I was certain I was going to supercharge my 2015 when I chose it over the GT350 (I had an allocation and got my deposit back when I bought my GT)

Now I look at the choices and it seems everyone is in a Dyno sheet induced frenzy where actual performance numbers are thrown out the window for on paper bragging rights.

Spinning the tires trough 3 gears is not on my wish list. Thousands in suspension upgrades to make the car hook and not break all at the expense of my comfortable ride is not on my wish list.

What I am looking for is someone to offer a "Daily Driver" package for those looking for 500 ish RWHP.

Roush seems to be close with the 637 kit but damn, that cutting up the brace and grinding the engine. That is so "Mickey Mouse" to me. It goes against everything I know to be proper in creating an OEM style aftermarket kit.

Whipple, you are my wish. But simply going to a bigger pulley and hoping the canned tune works out just seems a little iffy as well. Can you (Whipple) produce a 600HP kit for the 2015 GT Auto that drives like its factory? I know you can. If you do, I will buy it.

Flame away or jump on board...

500rwhp?

That is asking a lot, since you are starting with a car that is cranking out almost 400rwhp straight from the factory.

Unfortunately, I think this engine may be too good for you (fortunate for everyone else though!) - Making these engines "only" put out 500rwhp with boost requires some serious DE-tuning. I am not quite sure it would even run properly with such little ignition timing.

You can get close to 500rwhp with a mild NA build. That'd be the route I'd choose. It seems silly to spend 5-10k on a FI setup to only gain 125hp

Now I am looking at the Dyno graph in another thread and the RWTQ is only 475. My 03 has 489 and it hooks and drives well with Mickey Thompson ET Streets. I think I was fixated on the 700HP and not realizing it comes at 7400 RPM.

So to further the discussion, if we take Whipple's standard kit, put on the larger pulley and keep the shift point at 7200, where would that put me?

Look at one of the ProCharger kits. I think they have something in the 5XXRWHP area.

With the right setup and practice, you shouldn't be spinning through 3 gear. That's sounds like a drive mod issue. I have zero wheel hop and can hook pretty quickly in 1st. However, if all you want is 500rwhp, I would just stay N/A and get as much as you can. IMHO, it would be a waste to get a supercharger and detune it to 500rwhp.

Cams, intake, CAI, exhaust, maybe some head massaging and a dyno tune should put you in the neighborhood of 500 horses.

If you wanna go crazy balance the rotating assembly push some high RPM goodness into your life.

Wow, I had no idea that you were looking for that low of HP number, regardless, it can be done with a blower or NA.

With how well these cars put down power, I would say being around the 600rwhp mark is about the lowest that I would go. It's still safe for the stock motor and you should not have problems hooking with a drag radial even in a lower gear (even better with an auto). The Whipple tune will work just fine even at lower boost levels as they are typically based on MAF and wideband, so the less air being moved through the MAF will mean less fuel and more timing available.

I would recommend going with the standard Whipple complete kit with tune and go 1/4" larger on the pulley. This should put you in the 600 rwhp range or so.

If this is something that you would be interested in, feel free to contact us and we'll get you sorted out.

Thanks.

What is 600RWHP at the crank, 689? So we are adding approximately 68% HP over stock. Can a car with only lowering springs and 305's in the rear use this power in a controllable manner on the street?

Thanks for your patience with me everyone.

Only 500RWHP? Well, you can de-tune the engine with a whipple supercharger which is relible at 650RWHP.

If your are going off 15% powertrain losses, yes, about 690 hp at the crank. The power is controllable on the street with that size tire. If you have a manual, you will obviously need to modulate the throttle with your foot some, the auto will make the power much more usable in the lower gears which is no surprise.

Depends on gearing, tires, driving condition, and driver.
This is the beauty about a RWD car.
