Base GT350, nothing but base model..

Yes I'm about to pull the trigger on only a base model. I always tend to modify all of my cars I own and track them. This means no track pack, no magnetic suspension, nothing! I can get the cooling for the diff, trans and power steering hell of a lot cheaper than $6500 (track pack option) Anyone else going this route to save some $$?

I thought about this idea, but the dampers alone are worth the money IMO.

Taking into account the type of shocks you're getting, plus the cost of the cooling components, plus the cost of having them installed, plus you're more than likely going to void warranty if you install something yourself, I say the track pack is a pretty good choice.

I agree, plus you have factory warranty on all that. Fingers crossed for the MR as a standalone, as I don't track at all and have no need for the coolers.

Honestly, do it.

If I were to get a GT350, it would be a base car. Base car still has that awesome powertrain, as well as those Recaro's.

Yes - that's my plan, and I am good with that because of the savings. Well, one option - blue stripes for the white car. At that price point, you've got a heck of an engine, phenomenal brakes, and the dual-mode exhaust.

Answer: Very good. Get a test drive in one if/when you find one, the passive dampers are plenty good.

Plus, less electronic equipment that can break!

I thought hard about the base model too, thinking it could be the modern-day equivalent of a Road Runner or Torino Cobra Jet - all engine in a lightweight body with no extras. But the reality of how I'll be using my GT 350, plus the fact that I've modded enough cars in my life, made the Tech a better choice.

I'm all about that less electronic stuff. Plus when time comes to replace the MR suspension, IIRC they run about $1k per corner. Yikes

Is that solely for the shock?

Keep in mind you also have the harness, ride height sensors, and control module for the MR system.

Nice feed back here besides the troll and his one word "no" reply but hey.
The tech stuff is ok if I wasn't going to track or drive the car everyday but even that is more crap to worry about. In my world less clutter = more to me ...Plus ford will warranty the car if you add coolers. Only void will be on the motor and ECU. Also I do all the work myself so I'll be saving on adding the aftermarket coolers.
I've added every cooler on my e92 m3 and didn't void my warranty when I had it at the time, same with my Z06.

I wasn't trolling. So let me elaborate: I wouldn't contemplate passing on factory installed options and have them installed afterwards instead, just to save a couple grand on a $50k plus car.
