Lol, don't even get me started on this topic. I got dash cam footage that'll probably take up your whole lunch break of this happening. Both intentionally and unintentionally.

It's fun as hell when you do it intentionally and you do it just right, but when I do it accidentally while trying to turn out of a parking lot and match the speed of the traffic, it becomes a crazy "oh shit" moment.

Now I would think the stability assist would work better than that. Looks like I'm gonna have to drive like it doesn't exist. It should be more intrusive, but that's why it has an off switch.

It will let you get pretty squirrely in first before shutting you down. Second is much more aggressive and in third it will cut you off almost instantly (had pretty bad wheelspin on a 2-3 shift getting on the freeway aggressively the other day and it cut me off in less than one second).

Damn what happened?
Wasn't used to the car and took a turn like I would have in my 2012... used a dab too much throttle and the back end 180ed on me and I hit a curb... :( Good news was nothing mechanical broke, wheels scratched, fucked the alignment and broke a bumper tab. Fixed the alignment and looking for a new bumper.

That sucks, at least you're okay though and the car isn't hurt to badly. Did you buy the Wheel and Tire protection?

With these junk tires mine will come out going straight if I shift it in that sweet spot in a hurry and I'm in a warmer climate...

This may be a dumb question, but is it still possible to spin out in normal driving mode with dry roads? I was under the impression that traction control and stability control prevents that.
To a certain degree it does, but the OP might have got the car into a situation too quickly and too far out of the limits of the stability control to do any good. Stability control will not save you in every out of control situation - that's a good thing to realize and remember.

Maybe the OP had his ESC and TC turned off (AdvanceTrac disabled, see table)?

Mine came with the 255 P zero neros (not P zeros) which are still considered summer only tires and they grip well down in the 40's.
Those tires are rated as M+S (mud & snow) all-season tires (look at the sidewall for M+S), so they should be good for colder weather than the P Zero tires on the PP cars (which are summer only).

This makes me want to switch my PP tires over to something better (Michelin?) when I get the car, but with Christmas coming up, it might not be the best economic decision.

Neros are A/S tires. Good A/S tires, but not summer tires.

Given that you're in Canada, switching to a set of winters when you get the car would be the wisest choice.

Even the Eco will want to go sideways if you romp on it in a turn, say in 2nd gear and Sport+ mode... :D
Oh no doubt, but my wife doesn't know what Sport+ is. And if she did she'd have to put her coffee down first to flip the toggle.

Yep, scary!
