This is impressive and even more so in a slowing economy that has gone nowhere in the past 8 years.

Wow! That is a lot of Mustangs being sold. Reinforces that those of us hanging out on Mustang forums and ordering are in a very small minority of Mustang buyers.

With this many Mustangs being sold, it should be a buyer's market for used ones in 2-3 years. That will be nice because, assuming they hold up well, I'll pick up a used one as a gift for my son.
Indeed! I think the average over the last 12 months has been just about 10k/month or pretty damn close to it.

Edit - looking below. Ford is averaging 10,600 a month for the 2015 year.

My son is 13 right now. So we have 3 years until he gets his car. I was leaning towards getting a 2 year old Focus for him but....If the 2015's are out there for a decent price, I would buy him a V6 model in a heartbeat. He would be sooooooooooo happy as he loves my GTPP. He loves the Focus too. Both would be great first cars for him.

Money channel reported car sales are the best ever outside of 2001.

Seen it in passing, no details.

Same thing I was thinking for my son. 1st was a Focus, but if the 15/16 V6 Mustangs are at a good price and in good condition, he would be ecstatic.

I too am one of those October sales numbers. This is my fourth and by far my best one yet.

And the Mustang has surpassed the Camaro in total sales from 2009 through October 2015. This is why I tend to agree with those who say just because the 6thGen Camaro might offer better performance, that does not mean that it will translate into sales.

I helped for October! Sat in a 2016 Camero at SEMA today. Interior is nice with much improved materials. It is smaller and more cramped than the mustang to a point where I think it will affect sales. Had to move the seat all the way down just to keep my head from touching the roof and I'm 5'8". Hip room was tight as well. Not that the back seat gets a lot of attention but there is not any way someone's legs could fit with the front seat at a normal driving position. Seeing the new Camero reinforced my decision to go with the Mustang. It will be interesting to see how the numbers play out but as I can't see the new camero taking any sales from the mustang unless your only concern is 1/4 mile times which is not a large percentage of buyers.

So you're saying they were "gone in 30 seconds"? Not 60 seconds?
The 30 seconds thing only applied to the 500 'first' up for reservation. Note that these people did not actually buy their car yet, as the retail price at that point was unknown. In the 90 minutes of the game there were 1900 interested people.

It is known that in most EU countries the allocations have been sold-out well into the next year, but how many allocations there actually are is a bit of a mystery.

Nice to see the Mustang take the lead in Deliveries Since 2009.
