Has anyone tried this? Just curious what these things will do top speed wise. I know PP is 146, but is that really possible?

146 MPH is just a speed limited by the governor. The governor limit can be taken away with a tune, I know some guys with the cobb tune have gone past that 146 mark. And yes, with enough straight/runway even a bone stock pp will slowly creep up to 146mph, and then I believe fuel cut due to the governor, not the limit of power.

edit: Here's one limited at 140MPH governor on the autobahn. Pulls strong up to 140 and then is limited. He's in 5th gear at 4500 RPM that thing wants to keep going. [ame]

You're gonna need more than a 1/2 mile to see what it tops out at.

I've had my car pegged out at 160 but I have a tune, it still had more. Ass end felt very sketchy at those speeds

One thing is clear when attempting this, the stock hood needs some serious ventilation

you can do a 1/2 mile dig or roll race.... so should be good enough if u do the roll.

i think if u keep the stock grill and shutters u should be good as to there is only about a 14x7'' opening in the front.

I got mine up to 115mph very easily.. I was shocked how strong it pulled from 70-100.. It felt great too, very confident.

From what I've read on this forum, they say the base is limited to 120mph due to the tires which is why the PP is limited to 145mph.. but, I'm curious, I have the 19'' wheels and stripes package which comes with Pirelli P Zero Nero's All Season 255's all four corners, is mine limited to 120 or 140? guess I'll have to find out one of these nights heh.

I did 150 in my GT premium the other day(non pp). I have a lund tune. I easily could have got to 160 but was coming up on a car and had to slow down. I don't normally do this but had to see what my car can do at least once. Speedometer says 160 but I'm sure it would go 170 with a tune. It also got to 150 pretty fast

The stock GT passes the 1/2 mile line at 132MPH. if your trying to "top out" and really see what the top speed is, 1/2 mile roll isn't gonna work. The Ecoboost tuned can get past 150mph with enough straight. Once you hit 120mph your traveling a 1/4 mile every 7.5 seconds. And at 120mph on a 1/2 mile strip you gonna be about to pass the line. You need a lot of room once your at high speeds.

When topping out a car, the last few "mph's" take relatively a while to achieve. And your covering a lot of ground.

got out of a ticket with that math. Cop said I was going 85 He was stopped on the side of the freeway Then He said he paced me (10sec min). he had me pulled over in less then two miles. I wrote a letter to the court, spelled everything out with start & stop spots (cop had all info on ticket, which helped prove my case). It was not possible to have done it.

case dismissed
