Someone must have received a kick in the arse.

I just received a very apologetic call from Ford Australia providing me with a build date and promising to keep me updated every step of the way from now on.

I've never complained about anything. I suspect that a few more calls may be going out today.

We appear to have very similar deposit and ETA times so far - what did Ford tell you regarding your actual build date? I've got Etis showing me "Build date 30.11.0002" which is strange because that's not a proper date.

30/11/15 is my quoted build date.

A bit of help with that date 30.11.0002 means that it hasn't gone into production yet, but it should start within 2 weeks or so. Someone posted that a while back but it got lost in the sea of posts.

ETIS will show 30.11.0002 until it is built. Once it is built ETIS will update with the actual build date.

The next step is the Window Sticker should become available and it will include the 'blend date' which is the date it is planned to go into production. From memory Window Stickers become available on Thursday (US time) the week before it is due to go into production.

I believe that's what it says for anyone without a proper build date man.

Mine says the exact same thing, as so did AusMustang-GT's.

I received an email from Deysha about my car having been finished which goes:
Hey Ian,
Your order just finished production at the plant on 10/16, Aus-MustangGT. It’ll now be released to the body company (upfitter) to finish the assembly process. Then returned to the plant and released, and put out to await shipment, and then ship to the port in Baltimore, MD. Keep checking with me. Have a nice day!

As you can see she uses your signature not mine.The thing is I never gave her my sig. in the first place so she obviously must be reading the posts here and having seen my christian name, put two and two together, but then got a bit confused and used your signature instead of mine...lol.

My last post my dealer had told me my Mustang would be on a boat this week and still on target for delivery early December. I didn't necessarily believe him due to what I have read on this forum.
Got the call from Ford Aus today, she gave me the VIN number which I have been asking for. Told me my car was in build, started on 13/10. She said it would take 60 days to complete then another 30 days to deliver with possible delays in customs.
Probable late January early Feb delivery.

I can understand why some of you guys are getting toey! Personally I am not stressed out as I am going away for Xmas so what's the use of getting the car just before you go away?

However the communication within Ford is pretty bad, for the dealer to tell me one thing and then be told a date which is about 2 months later. I asked the kind lady which source of information should I believe, she said her source was more reliable than the dealer. Are the dealers incompetent or just ill informed? If the latter I feel sorry for them as they get the brunt of all the pissed off owners.

I think the lack of consistency is coming from Ford Australia. My dealer indicated today that he can really only quote from Dealer Confidential Bulletins. VINs are a case in point as they've been informed the VIN will be confirmed once a car is ready to be shipped yet if a buyer makes an enquiry, for example via Facebook, a VIN will be given.

He said Ford have not really got their procedure right but once the first shipment or so gets here and deliveries start they can finetune their system.

I'm quite happy with my dealer, he couldn't give my VIN but I got it from Ford Service via Facebook.

If your VIN exists, he can give it to you.
