"First, there's the engine. Both the GT350 and GT350R get an all-new 5.2-liter V8 that cranks out 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque on 93-octane fuel. It makes less on 91 octane, which is the best fuel available in large portions of its market (like California). How much less isn't entirely clear. Adam Christian, Ford Performance's internal combustion technical expert, is non-committal in providing an exact number but hints that 15-20 hp is likely."

526hp is not enough for you guys????

Nope... :p

To the original question if higher octane fuel would help: It depends how the factory tune and any knock sensors would work together to add more timing. And please, for the love of God and your O2 sensors, don't add leaded fuel to your tank. It will destroy your O2 sensors.

Thanks I can get 93 here so I will run that and be happy with the power output. It's funny if the published numbers were 649 hp and it was dynoed at 615 RWHP people would be complaining. You can never have enough power and even 700 would feel tame after you drive it long enough.

The GT only looses 5hp going from 93 octane to 87, so I can't see too much loss going from 93 to 91. If this was a turbo, then it could run 8-10% loss.

I don't think it would ever feel tame, but I do think that if I drove a 700 hp vehicle every day eventually I would want more. :)

Would it be better to run a non top tier gas that is pure 93 octane or use a top tier gas that contains ethonal? In Charleston there are a few gas stations that sell 93 octane with no ethonal. Thanks

You can get a bag tank of gas from anywhere. But generally I stick to the bigger labels like BP or Citgo. Call me paranoid but if I can, I will. Even if it's a few cents more per jug.

Also, just because a label is big one area doesn't mean it is another. It's all relative.

anyone know what size injectors the gt350 is coming with? They might be enough for e85 if you were going to tune for it. I couldnt see the gt350 coming with smaller than 47lb injectors.

Someone said on this thread that Ford said e85 wasn't compatible with the gt350.. I don't why as every fuel system these days is capable with upgraded injectors.

You might be thinking of ethanol that moden fuel systems are compatible with?

For E85, not only do you need a larger injector but you also need fuel pumps that can move the volume of fuel that you require. It wouldn't surprise me if parts of the OE fuel system were not designed for that.

A catless GT350....I would only imagine would sound pretty crappy. I'm curious to hear the first one but I have a feeling it's going to be horrible.
