BBRWho's tuning your car?
Yeah, there's your problem.
LOLYeah, there's your problem.
TSS, circle D converter.
Every test and tune night there are a few who slip through. Most guys with big power put slower ETs on the tech card before the race. Most tracks want to see a cage under 10.5 and current helmet for all but I don't recall ever getting a thorough tech inspection at any Midwest track even with an 8 second door slammer we ran 10 years ago, I'm sure some tracks blind eye it. 20 years of doing this the only time we had an issue was at a race but they still let us racel. Ran 9.50 dial in with a 4 point cage in a 90' fox. Sounded and felt scary but I can hold it straight. For you guys with the sub 10 sec. cars.
How are you getting away with running this fast without the safety gear?
Outlaw track maybe?
If you're happy with BBR then stick with them. I had no issues with them when they did my initial tune.So I contacted TSS and spoke to Colby.
Super nice guy-He asked Daniel, who said he would be able to tune with street logs and directed me to the website to fill out the form with my car specs-thankfully not a long list like my 12.
Tune may be a bit pricy but I am sure it is worth it.They will be okay tuning 93 up to 13-14 psi as long as I have BAP(which I do)
While I was thinking this over and getting ready to send payment I got an update tune from Chris, so I was willing to see what the new tune does .
It looks like he added more timing out the hole. Car still cant get a decent 60 ft but does not fall flat on its face like it used to do.
It picked up 0.4 in the ET and 4 mph in the 1/8 but 1/4 mph is about the same. I think we are moving in the right direction so I am going to stick with him( nice to know I have options) and see what the car does with the 2 step on Friday and the converter(being built) that should hopefully be ready next week.
With a decent 60 ft.(1.5-1.6) I could see a mid to low 10 second pass as it is on 93.Thats all I ever really wanted out of the car......but since my 12 is finally in the 9's and I am ready to sell that ,I may need another 9 second car but this time a nice driving daily.
Apologies to OP,did not mean to thread jack, just wanted to share my own Hellion progression(I am sure I will get in the 9's eventually)lol

We had a 6 point with swing out bars, no chute, but for 9.5s it was okay. Ran high 8s a few times with a dual 250 shot and 408 stroker. Lost 2 engines over a 2 year period and then quit.Yeah. This wouldn't fly at the 4 tracks local to me.
Certified cage, chute, license, etc.
Just because it's a "street car" doesn't make it right.
Well, I am inching my way to the 9's, .1 sec at a time.So I contacted TSS and spoke to Colby.

Nomad What size turbos did you go with
Don't mean to Hijack, but just thought it appropriate as I inch my way towards 9's. lolWell, I am inching my way to the 9's, .1 sec at a time.
I tested the 2 step with the same tune(93) and it looks like it is good on its own for about 0.1 improvement in 60 Ft and ultimately my first 10 second slip in the car.
it was cold ,with DA close to sea level so car certainly felt stronger and picked up mph.Car did not need traction off the line since still not in boost but was spinning 1-2 shifts and track was slick(50 degrees)

I also tested an 110 octane tune I got from Chris but I can only get 100 unleaded at the pump(there is leaded i want to avoid)
I had 1/2 a tank of 100 octane unleaded so I added a can of Torco.
(I bought a 5 gallon of MS09 at the track I am saving for when I get the converter and put the skinnies up front).
It felt much stronger(logs showed a lot motor timing ) and picked 2 mph but track was getting slicker and slicker so I quit while I was ahead.

Converter shipped today so will test next with front skinnies(right now 17x9.5 with 28 inch MT ET R's and 17x7 front runners )and MS09.
I figure with decent 60 ft (1.4)post converter and air like today, car has a low 10(or even high 9)with 110 octane tune.
