Did they tell why it was lifting the heads ?
Or was it a bad head gasket ?

I asked but he didn’t say. I’ve heard could be if not enough Assy lube. Heard they make new washers, if original ones spin while torquing could skew the reading. Maybe I should’ve decked the heads when I had head studs installed originally, One of the reasons I sent the whole long block. This is what they specialize in. Let them do everything and leave nothing to chance.

He is dealing with some exhaust leaks but at least motor is running !

But having issues with those damn aerospace brakes .
Since I installed then they have changed the descriptions of their website to say manual brakes required .
The kit shipped without instructions and we spent weeks calling and ordering additional parts to make it work .
Brake pedal was soft there was no way I would have felt safe relying on it to slow down from 150+ mph .
Line lock also quit working I had Joe install the JPC line lock .
Since I had invested so much in it I had even considered the manual brakes
but It started making scraping noises today . I think I am done with them and just going back to the stock brakes .
The street front are nice and install was straight forward so I may leave them as they are lighter than the stock non brembo

It would be hard selling a car without a handbrake anyway !

Should have the car back in a week and can’t wait to be able to drive it .

Brakes are “fixed” for now but will still be going back to the stock rears .

Joe will be delivering car back(He is 6 hours away in Michigan) on a flat bed with all my other spare “parts “ lol.
I am hoping I can salvage some of those parts including the GT 350 heads and block/pistons/rods .

He said the block ,rods and bearings look ok on inspection but I plan to have BES check them out.

If the block is good I will have them do the 12mm head stud conversion. If the rods and pistons also check out then I may be able to rebuild the short block or long block if the heads can be fixed too .
Head cam journals look good but the valves will probably need repacked .

Considering also using the rods to rebuild my GT 350(bent rods ) . May be I can even use the pistons (if they check out) but not sure I want to go down on the compression in the Voodoo.

I could then sell the sleeved block if it check out.

Got the car back this weekend .
Doing some street logs to dial in the new cams (14 mm lift ) . Car runs great so far but as you can imagine I am scared of breaking this one .

One WOT log 2500-5500 so far in third gear and looks good to me .

Will probably have to do any 7500 /WOT pulls on a dyno ... but I am sacred to put the car back one one .

I sent the block /pistons and rods to L&am to see if anything could be salvaged and to convert the block to 12 mm head studs if it was usable .

Below is a screen shot of what they found .
....interesting to say the least .
Not here to bash anyone but needless to say I won’t be returning to builder for any more engines
Hopefully no one will be building me any more motors except RPG when they get the Voodoo long block -yes , bent some rods on that one . Like someone said I could break a ball bearing in a rubber house !

True ... but you know as they teach us in the army you always have to “hunt the good stuff “
Heck crank could have failed at 150 mph instead of on the dyno .
That would have made a bad day !
