i have leather seats and mine seem to show wear very easily. Like if I wore my keys on my pants with a carabiner and it rubs the seat it certainly put a mark in the seat

I bought my car last November. I am very picky and some may not even notice the wear marks I post. My seats have more wear than my ten year old F-150 does. These are my seats now:

That's where mine are wearing also...

My leather seats are holding up just fine. No signs of wear and I'm a big round SOB tipping the scales at 340. Every day driver and wiggling my big butt in and out several times a day.

still looks brand new. just used chemical guys sprayable leather cleaner/conditioner on them yesterday was surprised how dirty they weren't. They looked even better after it though.
I use that stuff about once a month... only complaint about it is that the leather is slick for a day, so my butt slides around on it.
so I take it you both recommend chemical guys sprayable leather cleaner/conditioner? I need some for both my vehicles. Don't want to use vrp dressing on them. Truck is custom leather and 100% all leather. I'm all chemical guys now besides quick detailer. I use driven race wax for that, but wouldn't think V07 is much different. Since I want to support my nascar driver but ain't going where DG apparel. My neck and shoulder are so bad I like the ease of use with assume results.

OP the cloth is the best I've ever had. The leather you have to take care of like most leather and keep items out of your back pockets while practicing good habits getting in and out.

was my first time with it but so far so good, looks great. i decided to try the sprayable leather conditioner/cleaner instead of their two step cleaner and conditioner first because it was a little cheaper and only 1 step.

Been my DD since December. I'm in and out of it numerous times a day. Like anything, it all depends on how you use/take care of it. The more friction you cause between you and the seat while exiting/entering, the more noticeable the wear. With that said, I have a slight build at 5'8" and 150 lbs. Cloth seats look no where near like the photos posted here.

The leather on these cars is not very thick. Short of buying a seat cover some things I do to prevent excessive wear on the bolsters:

if you have memory seats definitely program them to slide back when you shut the car off.

Also when you get into the car, stick one foot in and try have your ass drop right into the bucket first. This will prevent a lot of the side bolster wear issues overtime from your back sliding over it getting into the seat.

Then pivot on your ass to bring your legs around to help prevent your thighs from rubbing the thigh bolster.

If you're not too heavy try to climb out of the car instead of slide out of it. Put your left foot on the ground and do a mini leg press.

One of the most telltale signs of a cars age is the wear on the leather side bolster.

The chemical guys sprayable leather is pretty good. It works. You gotta use it sparingly. I usually spray it into one side of a microfiber, wipe leather, and then wipe with the clean side of the microfiber.

That said... I don't really recommend getting it. Chemical Guy's stuff is a bit overpriced unless you're buying by the gallon, and there you have to deal with the price of buying in bulk. Honestly most of Meguiar's products are practically the same thing, half the price, and can be bought at any walmart or auto store.

What about the leather or fabric Recaro's? They seem like they would wear out on the outside arm, from getting in and out

Noticed the start of some wear on the bolster, after the first few times entering the car. I then change the seat controls to move the seat back to enter or exit automatically. I also changed my body position to enter or exit. Since then, I have not seen any wear to the bolster.
