Im thinking hypothetical worst case scenario here....Say Lund decides to either pull out from the coyote business and my Ngauge breaks with factory tune in it. How would I go about, if even possible, to have my vehicle retuned elsewhere? Is my PCM locked from being tuned with a Lund tune in it? Am I screwed and have to buy a new PCM? Im not near Lund so I would go thru beefcake or Lethal for an Ngauge.
If your gauge breaks and you need to recover your factory file that's not a big deal. A new factory file can be made and flashed to the vehicle.

Also,
At any time you can flash over the file that's on the PCM with any device. Whether it be a nGauge, SCT or Diablo device. So you're not stuck or have to purchase a new PCM.

If you have any other questions or need assistance placing an order please feel free to give us a call.

Thanks,
Jared

I'm currently running a JLT intake with their in-house tune using sct tuner. I'm happy with the tune but I'm curious to try a lund tune to compare the 2. Now if I go with the ngauge device, should I reflash the stock tune with the sct 1st or can I just load the ngauge tune rigth away ?

Also is there a noticeable difference between a sct lund tune and their ngauge tune ? as I already have the sct tuner it would be cheaper to use their sct tune if it's similar to the ngauge.

you can or can't reflash, we usuall recommend reflashing, just so your car has the stock calibration saved in the ngauge

as far as the above, "lund pulling out of the mustang business"

it would take pretty much an act of god for that to happen!!

:)

If you go with another device such as the Lund a Racing nGauge I'd recommend returning your car to stock with the SCT device before you flash it with the new device. This way your SCT device is no longer locked to your vehicle (in case you decide to sell it) and when you flash the car with the NGauge your stock file will be saved to it.

The tunes for the most part are the same between devices. The only downside with the SCT is that Lund will not build you a cammed idle file for it. The cammed idle tune is specific to the Lund Racing nGaugr.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Jared

Both options are great as they can hold the same tune from Lund Racing. The benefits of the ngauge over the SCT are that it can datalog more of the parameters they want to see when dialing in the car and that it's a display gauge for most of the parameters that the car see's.

Although you said you're a Ron Popeil type of guy that would most likely "set it and forget it" the parameter display portion may end up being of interest later on down the line.

To me I've always used the SCT devices. I would flash the car and put the programmer away and it would never come out until I needed to flash the car again. With the nGauge being so small and offering all of the cool display options I would probably end up mounting it and keeping it visible for me to use.

We have both devices in stock and are Lund Racing's largest dealer so if there's anything we can do for you please feel free to give us a call.

Thanks, Jared
So the only difference is better data logging? Both tuners will get me the same gains. I prefer the x4. Just wondering before I order. I'm the type of person that just loads the tune and I leave the tuner at home.
Thanks
