I couldn't find a previous post, if you find one please post here.
I am looking for the comparison between the 3... what are the benefits over one than the others? Not looking for deep details, just high level differences the separate the three.
Thanks... Sorry if this is redundant.

I've used all 3 of them on several vehicles of mine. The SCT stuff works really well. The BDX is just the newer version of the X4. It has wireless cloud tuning capability where the X4 doesn't. If you have a 2018+ and want to go with the SCT device the BDX is the one you'll want to go with as the X4 isn't compatible with the 18+ cars. Both devices flash the same tune so there's no difference in power between the devices.

As to the nGauge it's an awesome device. It's a lot easier to mount then the SCT device and wicked easy to use for datlogging and tune updates. It's small and looks just like a diagnostic gauge and works with both MAC and PC as it uses a micro SD card for datalogging and flashing the car.

I was at the track yesterday with our 2018 working with Jon Lund Jr on some track side remote tuning. The Ngauge is just so easy to use it's hard to recommend another device. One tap on the screen to start datalogging and one tap to stop. You can then remove the SD card, send the datalog to the tuner and receive a tune revision back to load onto the device with the card.

As always we keep the Lund Racing and HPT Ngauges in stock as well as all of the SCT devices. I'm always here to help so if you have any other questions please let us know.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for all that... I heard that only the SCT tuners can make axle and tire size changes, is this true?

The NGauge doesn’t have the capability yet for customers to make changes like that but if you get a custom tune the tuner will make those changes in the tune for you when they build the file.

The SCT devices do give user end adjustability to make those changes.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

If I recall the SCT devices lose those adjustment features once a custom tune is loaded not the device? I may be wrong, but last time I used an X4 I saw the gear/tire size adjustment settings, but after loading a custom tune it no longer displays those parameters. Would be cool to have a custom tune and be able to make adjustments like this without going back to the tuning shop.

Any way you can validate this... just want to make sure that when I drop $400+ on a tuner, that it will do simple things like read and clear DTC codes, axle gear ratio changes and tire size changes.

Sorry I can’t verify as I don’t have access to one, just figured I’d chime in with what I remember about it. I’m sure the vendors know the answer.

I contacted SCT, and you are partially correct, they said that a lot of tuners will disable that feature, but you can request whoever is doing your tune to leave those features in place.:beer::beer:
