+1Great price! I'm sure I can speak for some of us on here, group buy with boomba shift knob included ?![]()
Out of curiosity...for being a test mule, do you get to keep the shifter for free?:clap2:First and foremost, I want to say thank you for letting me be a part of the testing of your product. The team you have there is truly compasionate of what they're doing!
Now for the review.
I only had the oppurtunity to put about 20 miles on with my commute home, but I'm a quick study. The fit and finish is exceptional. There is no excess play anywhere on assembly. The appearance can be off putting at first, seeing a short stubby round ball compared to what we're used to, but don't let that fool you. As soon as you rest your elbow on the arm rest and grip this thing, you'll quickly realize that it's for a lack of better words 'Perfect'! The ergonomics of the height and shape of the knob work perfectly with the contours of the shift plate. With that being said, I think the Boomba Racing Knob is a must!
My commute home is a diverse mix of every type of driving. From stop and go traffic to suburban streets cruising and some highway sprinting. I did punch it to put it through its paces and I must say, I'm quite impressed. The downward shifting from 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th are like butter. You no longer need to move your arm to shift, instead just pivot off the bottom of your hand. Upward shifts are equally seamingless and just require a forward pivot much like the joystick of a video game. The short shifter does retain the mechanics of our factory shifting assembly so any notchy-ness will still remain, but with the throw distance reduced, it feels less amplified.
It's funny how a small modification as a short shifter can give you the sensation of driving a racecar!
I love it! :hail:
Finally pics!

If any of you aren't familiar with the company, just ask the Focus ST and Subaru community.![]()
