Ok in order to get the unit to turn on, you have to change 2 pinouts from on spot to another...Not to bad considering the reward right? Here is the list of things that dont work.

1. Ac controls on screen completely unresponsive
2. Unit senses you are in drive at all times
3. ^ means i couldnt check bluetooth or much of anything wireless
4. The backup cam would work but would also require swapping 2 more pinouts.

Other than that...lol. good news is, the head unit seems to behave just fine. I had full sound and radio worked!

Regarding issue 4:
Are you sure the backup camera will work with just swapping a couple pins? If the unit thinks the car is always in drive, will it know to turn on the camera feed when you put it in reverse?

Yes because the camera signal is what activates the mft to switch to video in. The rev camera has the correct signal. The drive issue is just a grounding pin i didnt bother to swap.

After market Focus system would work with some mods, both physically and wiring. Unsure about factory sync since this Focus didn't have to begin with and the new system using BT and had a mic...

Could we just get a 2015 mustang screen/module to use with no wiring issues? Or reprogramming?

No. The base and the premium have different harnesses. You could swap a focus screen into a premium with minimal issues, but base wiring isnt set up for the mft hardware.

With enough effort i should be able to come up with a step by step thats not too painful

That is how a lot of cameras work and yes you could use any feed.

That screen wouldnt work. You need the apim that attaches to the back of that.

ACM will be fine as long as you are just looking for the touch screen. GPS Nav will require the ACM from a premium vehicle equipped with GPS.

It seems for whatever reason 14-15 escape screens are the cheapest options out there currently.

I give you guys credit for working on this. Even if you tackle the wiring which is going to be difficult at best there is the programming side of things which will be a totally different type of hurdle. I doubt any of you have the proper programming tools to get as in depth with the APIM as would be needed to get things working across the board. Just so you know the Mustang uses a different MFT APIM than most of Ford vehicles. Its built in China and the others are built in Mexico.

I would really suggest just buying a mustang that already has the MFT system if your serious about wanting it.

Im assuming you installed the premium MFT dash bezel in the base vehicle.... So do all the manual controls still work properly, meaning lower A/C controls, hazard switch, pts, and steering modes?

The programming side should not be much of an issue. As long as the wiring is there (which is being worked on) it should work correctly. Nothing has been changed with the ACM so all base model controls will still work. The issue so far seems to be climate control. As aggiestang stated, wiring is the issue here currently.

Some of us don't have that option (v6 owners). Also, why spend $4000 more for premium when for $150-$300 we can get the biggest feature?
