Nice time given the 20 inchers and added weight! That is the first time I've seen someone post a 1/4 mile run with the 3.31 manual 15' GT.
What was the DA and your 60ft?

The 2015 GT stang should be capable of at least a high 12 sec 1/4 regardless which rear gear. To be honest I chose the 3.55 option because the car feels a lot more satisfying (sotp) in every gear, at any rpm and throttle position when you hit the gas compared to the 3.31.
Can't find the damn time slip. I ran on April 4th at Gateway Motorsport Park on their Midnight Madness event. They are having another one on May 1st, so if I get a few more good runs while stock, I'll post times and full slip.

Also, I completely agree with you on any variant of the 2015 GT running high 12s. I saw other people on this and other forums posting 13.3 - 13.4 with the 3.31 and thought that was horse shit. Even with my slow gear ratio I know this car is faster then when my STI was only stage 2. So I had to put it to the test, and I wasn't disappointed. So much potential...

I find it funny how people think they or their car is better because of what gears they got. It doesn't really matter.

or auto (6R80)for that matter...

Gears are a preference thing and we are lucky to have to even have the option to choose unlike most other car makes.

Exactly. I previously had an S2000 (1 choice), and 2011 WRX which only had 2 choices. 5spd in the WRX or 6spd in the STi. Everyone has different ideas of what they like. One isn't "better" than the other. It might have better results in certain situations (drag, auto x, road course), but there isn't a "right" choice.

Better is relative to personal preference, intended use & driving style. It's more like what's better for them. My 2006 V6 auto Mustang with 4.10 gears would pull harder off the line than my 2013 Mustang GT auto with 3.31 gears. It was a great 0-60 car but fell flat at 80mph.

4.10 gears should pull even harder up top, you just lose MPH, but you get there faster.

The up top of my 4.0L V6 was 80mph. It would get there quick then the motor had nothing more to give. 1st to 2nd & 2nd to 3rd shifts would chirp the tires & pitch the back of the car to the right.

The best 0-60 I've got with a lot of wheel spin was 1.2 seconds. When you have a lot of wheel spin your tires are getting to 60mph before the car is. It doesn't take much wheel spin to push your 0-60 over 5 or even 6 seconds.

With no wheel spin my stock 13 GT consistently runs a 4.7 0-60, my tuned 10 Challenger SRT8 with no wheel spin consistently runs a 4.3 0-60.

That's not true 0-60 but you're correct lol.

Put it on jack stands and it'll register an incredible 0-60!

Car itself getting to 60 is the real goal hehe

The new track apps don't go off of rear wheel speed. They do it off the front wheel speed sensor.

Yes wheel spin does not affect the way the tack app works more wheel spin the slower the time, I think I can do a lot better with a little more practice and a little warmer day.

Goofing around testing track apps with traction control on, I did a few tests and was getting 6.4, 6.2 -- took traction control off and immediately got a 5.8 -- still really crappy for a GT PP. I've noticed that setting cruise control that GPS consistently reads 2-3mph higher than what I'm set to cruise at. There's a spreadsheet on here somewhere that led me to believe you could actually *probably* hit 60 in second -- I have yet to do it -- always hit fuel cutoff. I haven't tested too much, and am still breaking it in, and getting familiar. I don't have any professional driving or racing experience, but I've had some pilot training, and have been able to put the machine at the book numbers pretty consistently -- a car can't be all that different. Has anyone tried any phone apps or other boxes like the gtech pro?

I did a little more goofing around, and used the 1/8 mile timer to try and get some 60 ft times -- I lifted after I was sure I'd gone 60 feet -- I was unconcerned about the actual 1/8 mile time. It looks like ALL of my problems are in those first 60 feet, as many of you strip hero's already guessed -- if I get my 60ft down to 2 seconds or less, I'll be right on the magazine numbers. Maybe I'll play with launch control next...
