I'm going to show some screen shots of a different engine of what the VCT tables look like when you go from a long runner (low-midrange power) manifold to a short running (midrange-top end power) manifold on this engine. The VE of the engine is completely different and requires completely different cam timing. Now, consider this, the short runner manifold lost some low end torque compared to the other, even when tuned, however, top end really benefits.
Just want to show an example of how different things can be.
The one on the left is with the short runner, right is long runner.
