Line is always insane at Franklin`s, go to the other 2 Joints a few blocks away. "Almost" as good (most) of the time and a fraction of the wait!

Now you got me wanting BBQ tonight. You undoubtedly know your eats around Austin. But today I'll head out Hwy 71 to Spicewood and get some O'pies brisket...good excuse to drive topless on rural road to great meat feast! Oh, and my little Cyclone vert is getting 25.5MPG and I'm not babying her.

Don`t forget to hit up some killer Fried Chicken at Gus`s in Austin too! I love the Austin Beer Exchange not far from Whole Foods Mega Store across the street. All the best Micro-Brewed Beers on Tap have their prices changing constantly depending on how they are selling or how much is left in the Keg. Like watching the Ticker Tape Scrolling on MSNBC but for Beer & Ales price quotes!

^ Dude, you sound like you're in serious Austin withdrawal. Your descriptions of the food and drink scene here could not have been better written by the Austin Tourist Bureau. What color is your vert? Mine is Ingot Silver.

Base V6, AT 051A, Package, Spare Tire, & "Spoiler Delete" in Race Red! Damn, if I could deal with Austin`s Winters after living in South FL for the past 15 years, I`d relocate there for sure! Throw in HEB Grocery Stores, Winner! Its like living in the Vatican with all the rest of the TX crazies surrounding the insulated "Island". Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert, Blake Farenhold, = Austin? I don`t think so. Rick Perry is only there by accident that someone (F-U) and made the State Capital in the (wrong) City!

Low MPG

Hey guys, is 15 MPG normal for an automatic V6 if driving is 90% city with about 30% of the driving in S mode? 2700 miles on the car. What do you think? Normal or something could be wrong?

That actually sounds about right. High city milage plus sport mode will get you low MPG. It also sounds like your not exactly easy on it either.

Ya I can't help it  haha. That's what I thought but I was curious because stated MPG is 19 in the city for the auto so it would be nice to get at least 17 (I'm gonna try to limit my fun a little and hopefully it will improve with a CAI and an exhaust next year). Thanks man.

Well, speaking for myself, I`ve had my 15` V6 Convertible almost 12 months now and just under 7K driven. I have the standard rear axle and automatic transmission. In heavy stop and go City driving probably averaging around 18 mpg and Highway around 26 mpg. Would have liked a bit more (but) considering the 13` Kia Rio5 Hatchback it replaced with a 1.6 ltr. 4 cyl. engine (with) GDI and A/T got barely 20 mpg City and 30 mpg Highway, I`d say, my Mustang Convertible certainly has a lot more giddy up and a lot more exciting to drive. On longer road trips, I use my 13` Ford C-Max Hybrid and get a constant 38-40 mpg in both City & Highway, not too shabby, you think?

Not bad not bad enjoy the convertible  my brother had a hardtop convertible 2000 SLK230 Kompressor before the Mustangs.. it was nice in the summer we miss it sometimes. Also I heard we get the maximum MPG gains after 10k miles so looking forward to that.

Can anyone tell me why I'm only getting like 22 mpg average every day? I have about 7350 miles and even on days that I'm driving "normal", my mpg stays the same.

Are you doing a fair amount of in town or city driving?

I average 25 for 80% highway at 80 MPH.

I'm pretty much never in the city. Live in the suburbs and I don't drive in stop and go traffic very much.
