Did not see this coming... had to leave the party early when grown people started shooting fireworks right beside my vert. It was like "damn, how stupid are people".

I was in the city, so there was no other place for me to park. Only reason I found that parking space was because my cousin had to leave for his night job.

Solution? Whenever there is fire, will catch the DC metro (aka train lines). Metro is a great solution to this "issue". No parking in city during 4th or new years... or great time to go someplace else during those times.

My convertible has regular premium seats with plastic seat belt clip retainers on the top of the front seats. Make sure that the front passenger seat belt is fit through the seat clip. Yesterday I was out driving with the top down by myself. Randomly, there would be a quite loud thunking noise coming from the right side of the compartment. It was not consistent. When I finally parked, I looked over the right side. The front passenger seat belt had been left unclipped from the seat bracket (when I had a rear passenger a few days ago). If the belt is not clipped, the button side of the belt buckle faces the side panel...a wind gust will cause the belt to flop side to side. The buckle then hits the side panel and the side panel booms like a drum!
So...if you are out by yourself and hear a quite loud thunking noise coming from the right side of the passenger compartment...the right seat belt is probably not clipped to the seat bracket.

I have experienced this same thing a few times, not very consistent as you said and only seems to happen at around 45MPH for me.

Mine was doing that with the top up or down... I simply pushed the buckle all the way to the top and noise gone.

Now I'm looking to return the car to the dealer for the noises behind the dash and doors. Does not happen until I play music, but it is starting to irritate me.

Part of headliner liner catches when opening (at 90% open)

Anyone have this issue and know how to solve it?

On each side above/behind the back of the rear quarter windows, the headliner has ≈ 12" long x 3" wide hard plastic attached to the head liner. On the passenger side, this part slides to the side as it should at about the 90% open stage. But the one on the driver side does not slide to the side before the hinge forces it aside with a popping sound. There are wear spots developing on the edges of this piece already. This piece has 1/2" nylon straps that attach back further under the headliner which I assume are supposed to 'pull' this piece inward and vertical.

My dealer is 1.5 hours away and besides the time, I would not look forward to going there just for this. I have no plans to go there or any other Ford dealer for service unless mandatory.

Can you video the issue?

I don't have this issue and I drop my top daily, if the rain is a couple of miles away.

Can't upload photos right now but had vert top headliner issues about 10 days after deliver. Pax side just behind front seats; fore and aft seam split at attachment point for headliner. Also just forward of that on the edge of the headliner was a small divot taken out of the headliner, assuming from frame pinch. New headliner (not cheap) replaced under warranty. 4 months post repair, has worked without a hitch since.

There was a terrible terrorist incident today and the terrorist was shooting from a convertible car. Anyone know what kind of car that was? I saw a bit on TV and it looked like a S550 Mustang. Can anyone confirm what auto was used. Just terrible!

Top's headliner hangs up/ catches at 90% open: Video

Thanks for request to video. The video and process of doing it helped me see more clearly what was going on.
EDIT: Is 1/2" - 5/8" gap normal at the very smallest gap right in the middle of the hinge opening?

At the pick up inspection of my convertible, I noticed the clicking sound a few times on the passenger side when testing the top, then it stopped. After a time (I don't recall how long), it started clicking loudly and consistently on the driver side. Just now, I measured the gap size of the hinge opening on each side (5/8" on no issue passenger side and 1/2" on driver's side w/ issue). I measured where it is closest in the middle. From the video, the little ≈3"x10" plastic backing piece appears to not only hang up, then snap away from hinge, but then to be pinched by the hinge as it compresses fully. I think this is what is causing the abrasions on the edge of the head liner. Also, the inside plastic trim piece shown pops off.
