Well after thinking about it a lot, I decided that I am going to be going with the PMAS intake/MAF system and a Livernois tune. The tune will have to wait till after my wedding, but the PMAS intake can be ran without a tune in the meantime. A user on the board has already seen some pretty incredible results with the PMAS and a tune. He is going back to the dyno to confirm the results back to back with the stock intake and the PMAS. Thanks for all the posts guys.
We appreciate the business Roman, and good luck on your big day! :clap2:

Thanks Livernois, I wish I still lived in Michigan so I could just drive over and get it tuned, but oh well. Will get a hold of you guys In a month or two.

So I'm just at the point of starting to consider an intake/tune. I've been reading through several of these threads and have a couple questions that I figured I would drop here:

- From my reading, it seems that the Livernois (sp?) intake is the only one that offers the thermostat replacement. Why is that? What is the benefit of this exactly? Why do none of the other intake manufacturer's modify the thermostat?

Also, not to get this thread of track but another question popped up from some comments I read on here pertaining to an Air/Oil Separator. Is one needed for an N/A V8 engine? Coming from the turbo Subaru community, A/O Separators were all the rage. I guess I just assumed that this was a product of the boxer engine and placement of the intercooler. The separator would work to keep oil from getting into the piping. I'm wondering why one would be needed on a Coyote V8 engine?

sometimes you can get oil sucked back through the system, it can cause false knock in the fuel, so it doesn't hurt

You can dramatically reduce the operating temperatures in your performance engine. This will allow for the engine to naturally make more power power, ensure consistent performance, and increase coolant flow to help extend engine component longevity. Ford does all of their power testing at ~140° coolant temp so we are getting you as close to that number as we can while still providing amenities like heat.

You quoted me didn't you? or are you just being an ass.
Think he is just saying he mistook you for the guy who said his tuner told him to change intakes.

Ok, thanks for the info. So just to clarify (because I may not be understanding this correctly), is your thermostat replacement basically "tricking" the ECU into thinking things are hotter than they actually are? Is that why there would be more coolant flow thereby reducing engine temps?

Dont think there is any trickery happening but I imagine the ECU might be changing the timing a bit with the cooler temps before sensing knock which could provide some more power.

No, the EvenFlo thermostat's valve opens up at 160° in stead of the stock units 178°. It is a mechanical operation with no sensors or "trickability". It is just simple science...open the tstat earlier, turn the fans on earlier and let them run a little bit longer. That is the simple way to keep things cool.
