Help me make a decision folks:

Buy a Shelby GT350 with Tech Pack for $57K or a Mustang GT PP for $42K and spend $15-$20K to have it customized by a known designer like Chip Foose, including forced induction. Thanks.

What is the car going to be used for?

You generally get more bang for your buck by going aftermarket. Especially if you're going to go FI and power is your goal.

But that new Voodoo engine has a lot of potential imo. I'd go 350.

I suspect plenty of people will have this dilemma. the base GT350 is at 49.9K and that GT PP is at 42k...just save a bit longer and wait for the GT350. But to answer the question, FI is something completely different than a NA FPC, so just depends what you like.

I would go with the FTP and the gt350, but Obviously this is your choice.

Go base GT plus PP instead and mod that.

IMO, if you have to ask then the custom route is the best choice. Let someone who really wants one have that gt350 allocation.

I'm willing to go 4K over sticker on a 350, and have any extra 350 allocation locked up at local dealer if they get one more.

They are only getting 1 GT350 as of now but it's a R for 15K ADM

I'm kind of in the same position but won't make the decision for a couple years. I have the premium PP GT and am having a tough time on deciding if I keep it and mod or upgrade in two years to the GT350. I think for now I'll just start saving up "mustang funds" and in two years have enough to go wild on my current car or buy a new GT350 base. I think the 350 with headers and a tune will be enough power for me...

If you're going to pay someone like Chip Foose, for $15-20k you'll get a set of wheels, custom paint, and new seat covers. That's about it. The GT350 is a fully engineered car from the beginning.

On the other hand, you can get a premium GT with PP for far less than $42k. My local dealer has them going for $35-37k.

Yeah, knock about $4k off the msrp for a GT Premium track pack and that's what you will be paying. The GT350's will probably be getting about MSRP once the new launch madness wears off.

Ford has already said they will build as many as they can sell so I doubt they will continue to demand a premium over MSRP in the future.

But...you may have to wait 2 years for delivery on the GT350 (at MSRP as you say) whereas you could drive home the GT PP today. So how much is that 2 years of driving fun worth as opposed to sitting around waiting?

You will be able to get a GT350 at MSRP at this time next year. People are already getting MSRP deals now.
