Someone mentioned disconnecting the recirculating tube will make the turbot sound louder. I know the GT has the sound tube equivalent. Anyone done this on their ecoboost? If so, would this have a negative effect on the engine?

No negative effects. all you are doing is changing your blow off valve from recirculate to vent to atmosphere. the sound tube on the GT has nothing to do with this as the GT doesnt not have a blow off valve.\

You will notice alot more turbo noise and it is very nice sounding. when you let off the gas while under boost it will make the signature pwhssshhhh sound of a turbo car.\\

also make sure you cap the intake somehow so particles dont get in the engine from the new uncovered hole.\\\

I'm pretty sure that is just for emissions.

On the GT, the sound tube doesn't pump air, it just goes through the firewall to pump sound into the passenger compartment but isn't open on the engine side.

Lots of people have done/are doing this. No ill effects on this car. Definitely will hear the blow off sound. Make sure to cap the opening on the intake. Some people have used furniture feet from lowes. I had mine disconnected until I bought an aftermarket intake. I can still hear the blow off through the intake so I left it connected.

The only negative to me is the way the BPV will open up and stay open under prolonged acceleration. So if your going uphill or have cruise control on it will sometimes open and you'll hear the "Pshhhhhhhh" until you manipulate throttle position again. It's normal and there's nothing wrong but it can be annoying.

If you are standing in front of the car, follow the piping leading from your airbox back to the turbo. The first, thicker hose that is clamped to the top of that piping is the recirculation hose. All you have to do is squeeze the clamp on that hose and pull it up off the intake pipe. Then, cover that whole with the vacuum cap pictured above or something else that wont get sucked down into that pipe. That's really all there is to it. You don't have to remove the other end of the recirculation hose but there's no point to having it in there detached either.

Thanks man, did the mod, sounds pretty nice. While i was in There tho, I noticed the tube directly behind the recirculating tube wasn't latched onto the intake fitting, I got to to connect and match but it was difficult almost like the fitting wasn't the right size, anyone else notice this on their car?

That's the pcv hose, it's not going to go the whole way down on that connection. Push it down until you hear it click and you'll be good.

Right on! I got into click but it was very hard to do, almost like the fitting is defective. I look more into it and make sure it stays in place

Thanks again

Any idea if this will fit with the stock intake?

They do, I just did mine about 10 minutes ago with the chair tips!!

Also, should I remove the entire hose from the blow off to the intake tube or just simply leave the rubber hose attached to the blow off valve

I'm not quite sure if there are no ill effects. I too experienced opening of the factory bypass valve under partial throttle conditions. In these cases, the engine was operating under vacuum. Since I had the Boomba adapter installed at the time (essentially the same as disconnecting the recirculation hose), unfiltered air was entering the engine during these periods. I elected to remove the adapter and run the stock recirculation setup, instead choosing to install a JLT intake to improve sound among other things.

Will the small amounts of unfiltered air entering the engine through the vented-to-atmosphere bypass valve during these conditions cause engine damage? Possibly in the long term, but by then, there's no way to tell that the bypass valve being vented is what caused any problems that may develop. I weighed the risks vs. rewards, and did what suited me best. Others may think and choose differently. :)
