I have to honestly say by far one of the most fun rides I've ever owned. It's not the fastest but it's sure a blast to drive. The handling of these lightweight cars is fantastic. It may even be more fun than my S550 GT.

An impressive stable of superior vehicles.... each a standout in it's category. For those of us without a four-car garage, the Mustang still represents one of the best all-around vehicles to own (and drive).

I had some kid in an 07 or so GT jump on me a few months ago, and it ended very badly for him. Car was a little rough looking, but had exhaust work of some sort. He kept messing with me for a few miles, and I finally decided enough was enough. 60 roll, up to xxxx speed, he got 2-3 bus lengths put on him. Of course, he picked the absolute worst day to pick on a mildly mod'd EBM....60-65* with low humidity. He rolled up next to me after the beat down and mouthed "4 cyl?". When I nodded yes, he looked like someone had stolen his puppy..LOL.

Nearly pointless thread. The 2.3 can be software modded to perform as needed. The 4.6 needs hardware.

EB Mustang + tune is a far superior car than a 4.6 liter fox body Mustang.

Not too many Mod Foxes running around who won't rip the doors off all the cars on this site. If you're putting a mod motor in a Fox, you're not messing around.

Because of the title of the thread...
Coyote was launched in 2011 and the Fox stopped in 2004 (unless you want to go all the way back to the pre-modified Fox SN95 in 1993). There are a lot of 'pre-Coyote' Mustangs that are not Fox platform.

Yea the 2010 mustang GT was a 4.6 and it was not a fox
The 2010 also had the highest rated "normal" version of this motor from the factory. Still... I feel for the guys who bought the '10, and then the very next year it was Coyote time...

But yeah. The OP was probably talking more about the 05-10 4.6L cars, since it put out very similar peak numbers as the EB motor.

Been reading about 500+ HP so far..... but that is not really practical (you want that amount of power, you need to start with the Coyote). However, with an upgraded intercooler and tune, you can shock the 6's, surprise Chevy Camero SS's and most pre-Coyote 8's. I also think all the 2015 engines would benefit from an exhaust upgrade ... they are all too tame.

How would a Tunned 07 GT fair against a tuned ecoboost with a catless downpipe

A tuned pre-Coyote against a tuned 2.3T would be an interesting match-up. My guess would be that the 2015 2.3T would out-handle and be more responsive on public roads (huge torque down low thru mid), but the 07 GT would eventually gain and hold the lead in a straight-line (hi-rev/top-end) race.
