I think every "group" has their ass-hats and stereotypes. I've had both...2010 Civic SI w/mods and a 2013 Mustang GT/CS w/mods...both crews/cultures were annoying as hell because they were filled with the typical DB associated people. It's nothing new.

I just don't see why it's a big deal. Who cares what badge is on the back? If the looks like shite...then it is. If it looks good and is done right, why not give it props?

Here's the problem, you can dump and dump money into any car, but why? Why start with 200hp and try to get a 10-11-12sec car rather than spend that money with better base to work from?

Civics for example aren't cheap anymore- they're like $23-25k for the SI to get 205hp. For the difference in mods between $25k and a GT at $32k, you won't get near the GT performance. If you're dumping $20k into a $25k Civic you have real issues to begin with.

This year at the auto shows they showed a "Type R" Civic all wheel drive 305hp and still only does 5.7sec 0-60. Fast for Honda, but they are thinking it will cost over $40k!

I just can't see spending that much if performance is what you are looking for. A Mustang GT really is the best current performance car for the price out there.

I see the fart can civics and Mazdas all the time and just have to laugh. Lowered, wheels, body kits and graphics, exhaust. Probably spent $5-10k just in that, so amazingly like over $30k into the car, and still has 205hp trying to race people. It's just sad.

Hmmm so a 435/400 car that runs 12's, has a 0-60 of about 4 seconds isn't fast? All for 40k? That's pretty good. I'm not acting like I'm driving a ferarri or a lambo, I'm just not acting like my 200 horsepower rice can is fast. ALMOST anything on the road I will beat and look good doing it.

Now this is of course my GT.

If you're in the eco, I could understand why you think that.

ALSO, if these imports are so great and fast. Why do YOU own a MUSTANG, not an Si or s2000. Simply because they are slow and you will be seen as a classic "ricer" driving it. There's no argument to it.
I didn't say it wasn't fast its just not that special. It's just a Mustang, nice car yes but really nothing special.I personally love the redesign and think its great which is why I bought one.
Iam also realistic and realize its not that special. Also I have plenty of seat time in both so cut the 5bro crap and get over yourself.

smh....not many unbiased genuine car enthusiasts to be found here
I don't think Hondas are crap due to bias. I actually have owned a couple and driven several more. Got sick of breaking down all the time in a POS slow ride.

I've owned a lot of 30 year old Fords and enjoyed it much more. Just drive and enjoy rather than fix all the time. Still slow, but at least you have some cubic inches to work with.

The username Vtec didn't tip you off to that bias already?

Well it's more special than any import, especially a civic. Not 5bro'ing it either. This is my first mustang, so it's quite special to me but I've been part of the mopar family for a while until this.

Guys talking shit on imports and saying it is the ricer mentality and then talking shit on other cars while driving a basic Mustang GT...

You're the definition of 5.Bro and I'm not surprised this is your first Mustang. Your car isn't special. Now you know.

Because that is their choice. Who are we to judge anyone? Someone who throws $10K into a GT with supercharger, tune, exhaust and suspension should've just saved their money and bought a GT350 right?

I had a 2003 Evo, and put $15K into it and don't regret a thing. I always loved Mitsu Evos and when I had the opportunity to own one I didn't hesitate.

Just because you don't understand it or agree with it doesn't make it stupid.

Because I like my Mustang too? It's possible to have a broad taste is cars. It's not a zero sum game. Having/liking a Honda does nothing to take away from my Fords? I also like my 1991 CRX Si. And my TDI Jetta. And my Fiesta ST. I liked my old Integra too. As well as my VW R32 and my VW GTI.

I like interesting cars. Asian, European, American....whatever. I'd love to have a GTO or a G8 GT. Or an E39 M5.

I just don't get it. I hate idiots, not cars.

I understand it isn't a financial decision. I've spent way more on Mustangs and parts than ever made sense from a financial standpoint. It's your money to do whatever you choose with.

Ehhh, I know you were going after someone else with this post, but I also drive a basic GT. I'm not out there saying this is the greatest car ever or anything like that. It's a relatively inexpensive car with decent performance. I like it.

And I do have nationalistic beliefs. I'm proud of my country and prefer to buy American when I can. I will admit to that. But if I thought there was a competing Jap car that was heads and shoulders better than my GT, I would buy it. The closest is probably a WRX, but they are a little slower and more expensive than my 5.0.

I'd sure love to have 4WD on some winter days, though.

Defensive much? I never once used the word stupid.
