Not sure what is screwed up about the plot? Just that the scales for power and torque are different (which I agree is dumb marketing)? Or is there something else going on that is funky?

The only thin I find "interesting" (in a non-positive way) about the Voodoo dyno plot is the relatively low torque below 3500 RPM and then the relatively massive (and sudden) jump.

I typically daily drive my cars below 2000 RPM (usually 1500-2000) except for the brief occasions where I need to clean out the fuel injectors....

I know the Voodoo will still have plenty of torque for me, but that jump is an interesting artifact. I do wonder if it will show up on chassis dyno runs as well, and if it will be noticeable with the butt dyno (or hienymometer).

The Z below 2,000? My rev up has nothing below 2,000.

I don't understand why people keep making these kind of statements. The torque curve is maximum torque, as in WOT. You don't daily drive 1500-2000 RPM at WOT. If you did, you'd be >3500 RPM very quickly. If you don't think there's enough torque in your 1500-2000 RPM range during your daily drive - press the pedal down a bit more.

If you drove a truck (pulling a heavy trailer), you might find yourself with the pedal to the floor in that RPM range - and it would stay in that range a lot longer because of the much slower acceleration. Then it would matter.

The graphs were manipulated to cross at peak torque instead of 5252 so I cant really tell which axis they buggered with

I think cruise in 6th gear on the highway will be significantly above 2,000 rpm. I guess if you're creeping around on side roads I could see staying below 2,000 - but when I run through the gears I almost always get to 3 or 4, even when I'm not accelerating quickly.

I wonder about the jump in torque too. My first thought was something to do with cam timing, but I would think that would be more smooth, because it can be controlled by the ECU.

More likely is intake runner length hits a harmonic for a slight ram air effect in that RPM range.

This may not be the right motor for you, it is going to be RPM happy and not like being driven in low RPM"S.

I have no idea why anyone is concerned about the numbers - This thing is going to be a beast. You get used to driving lower torque, high rev motors; there's plenty of power when you need it, drop down to 2nd or 3rd and go - fun stuff.

This thing is perfect. Day will go as this

Open garage door
Turn car on
Hit active exhaust button
Drive out
Blip throttle . Public service for neighbours. They do not need alarm clock

Leave neighborhood at 20 mph with glorious racket

Spot freeway entrance 1st gear till 8200 rpm

Ready to start day

For everyone else that lives at 2000 rpm there is minivan at Chrysler awaiting[emoji2]

The point I was trying to make is this isn't really a low torque motor.

This is gonna be me. Except on days I get bottlenecked behind a Camry on that on ramp.

FWIW I don't think so either, but low is a relative term. Some might think it's low compared to a forced induction engine as in the C7-z06.

This is so true. Who needs counseling or drugs when you have a beast of a car? Any day that I drive my supercharged Magnum SRT8, I can tap the throttle and hear the instant bellow from the Corsa exhaust. Never fails to boost my mood and put a big grin on my face!

The engine isn't going to care how it's driven.
