Who has done any form of racing with their EcoBoost?

Me as well -- got it on a Thursday and it had four drivers and 28 runs on it by the following Sunday! Did well, too.If you count autocross as racing, I'll be doing a couple events in this year.

That's awesome, definitely a nice way to get into racing! Have you guys thought about HPDE events?Me as well -- got it on a Thursday and it had four drivers and 28 runs on it by the following Sunday! Did well, too.
Nice to see there's more than one.
Our car club hosts HPDE events at a local kart track. It's fun, but definitely not "big boy" HPDE. Max speed on the track is around 65-70mph (depending on car of course), and typical lap times in the 1:15-1:20 range, still fun though! That's awesome, definitely a nice way to get into racing! That sounds pretty fun. I am guessing its quite narrow and technical for a car. Do you have any videos? Our car club hosts HPDE events at a local kart track. YouTube search "USAIR Lapping", there are a bunch of videos of other people on that track. It definitely tests how nimble the car is, but I wouldn't say it's too narrow or technical. Here is a photo of me on that track with my '98 V6.That sounds pretty fun. I am guessing its quite narrow and technical for a car. Do you have any videos?

Looking good.
What kind of power is your v6 making?
I still have the mail order tune for it, and it is insanely rich (like...less than 10:1 AFR at WOT), but it puts out 172rwhp/254rwtq. Enough to have fun with, but definitely room for improvement. I'd benefit A LOT from a true dyno tune, but I think I might go a different route with the car, and hate to invest more money in my current setup. The roots blower has given me a decent amount of trouble with intake temps and oil temps. I can make it about 7-8 minutes at an HPDE event before my 250°F+ intake temps and pegged oil temp gauge start to scare me and I end my session.Looking good.

Heat can me a pain to deal with.I still have the mail order tune for it, and it is insanely rich (like...less than 10:1 AFR at WOT), but it puts out 172rwhp/254rwtq. I'd like to buy a wrecked/salvage '01 Cobra for a donor car. Just some good reliable N/A power.
I haven't. I just got it about 2-1/2 weeks ago, and there hasn't been a local event since then. I've heard that the EcoBoost has the same oil temp and intake air temp issues that my V6 has though :(Heat can me a pain to deal with.
Have you put your EB though its paces at the track?
Yeah, we are battling to figure out a solution. An oil cooler and an intercooler upgrade seems to help but its not enough. We are waiting on a radiator to test. Hopefully that in conjunction with the oil cooler and intercooler will do the trick.I haven't. I just got it about 2-1/2 weeks ago, and there hasn't been a local event since then. Did yours run pretty hot as well? We've autox'd ours and done an HPDE with SCCA Track Night in America.
