I have the brake squeal. It is VERY loud with windows up and having the radio up. It usually happens when braking while turning at low speed. I have had it happen while going straight too but that's rare.

Is this just a GT problem? Don't all EcoBoost, V6, and GT models other than Performance Packs have the same brakes?

I've heard some squealing in my EcoBoost at low speeds without the brakes applied which I had suspected was coming from the brakes.

There are three types of brakes available: One on the base V6 and base Ecoboost; one on the Ecoboost Performance Pack and base GT; and one on the GT Performance Pack. The problem has been pointed out by both of the latter two groups.

Other than a track, where can you possibly do a 70 mph hard stop? Slamming on your brakes on the highway for no reason is frowned upon.
First, there is definitely a reason, "I was bedding my brakes officer" ;-) Also, you shouldn't be "slamming" on the brakes. This is a controlled slow (not a stop).

The goal with bedding the brakes is to transfer a layer of pad material to the rotors, which can improve friction, wear, and noise.

In general, you want to heat them up slowly in a controlled fashion, then perform a few hard "stops" (not really stopping the car fully, just slowing it down to maybe 10 MPH), and then let the brakes cool. You want to avoid sitting on the brakes with the car fully stopped during the process, so finding some out-of-the way highway or large parking lot is key. The exact details on how you accomplish the above can be adapted to the available roads and traffic conditions.

I will typically bed my race pads during my first session on the track, but when bedding pads on the street I will do the following:

1. Four or five hard "slows" from 30-40 MPH to get the brakes warmed up.
2. About 10 hard "slows" from 50-60 MPH to get the pad material transferred.
3. Drive around normally for several minutes to let the brakes slowly cool back down.

The trick is finding a time and location where traffic is going to be light, and of course checking your rear-view mirror so you aren't braking hard right in front of someone.

Wait till 11 pm/midnight or later when there's no traffic, put your hazzards on and do it. Bedding in brakes is pretty important for both performance and wear. I've done it several times after changing to new pads.

Usually you'll want to do several hard stops from 60+ mph. And by stops, you don't want to come down to 0, but 10-15 mph from 70 will do the trick.

Edit: what Trackaholic said.

Bedding doesn't help, multiple people have done that and also new pads. None of this has helped. It's so bad now even goi straight I dont even want to drive my car bow until they fix this, it's embarrassing I get so many looks in traffic like WTH.

Been experiencing this since day 1!! It's not a squealing noise, more of a metal hard rubbing noise. I'll try the bedding technique and report back.

There is a Ford fix out now... TSB, a free repair.

If I recall, it applies to standard GTs not PP. and eco boost with PP, not standard ecoboost. Look in the Issues section.

You need to bed-in your pads. Check out this video I did on how to do it:
How to Bed-in Brake Pads and Discs
Doesn't work. This squealing is like NOTHING I've ever heard. It doesn't have to do with just contact... it is harmonic. And it never happens in reverse. If were just a contact thing, it would.

The TSB calls for new rotors and new pads for cars built before Feb 2015. I bet there was an issue with the rotor castings.

I have the same problem, doesn't occur all time, maybe once or twice a week, went to the dealer, they told me that unless it happens when they drive the vehicle, they won't do a repair even if a TSB is issued, showed them a copy of the TSB, said it doesn't matter unless it happens when they have the vehicle, anyone with this problem and does it get worse from intermittent to continuous
