I have a question for anyone here......How much stiffer of a ride do you thing the GT350 (non R) will be in comparison to the 2015 Mustang GT PP? The reason I ask is I can not take the 911 GT3 RS ride or the 2015 Viper GTS ride? Please tell me it should be as compliant as the standard GT? Anyone? thanks

No one knows except ford test drivers. But with magna ride shocks it should be more reasonable than what u listed. Or else why bother with magna ride and adjustable suspension

Yes, it was the first generation of the VQ that had bad vibration and I got to test it. I think it was around MY 2000.
I remember I talked to my Asian top mechanic about it an he knew everything about that engine. He said, Nissan had come up with a new Crank design but the design is faulty, because it's not 100% balanced. And it throws things off in high RPM.

The Honda S2000 engine had one of the best almost like an F1 engine that could rev to 9000.

We may have to sit back for a year to see how this GT350 engine pans out.
the vq35 was rated one of the best engines for years. Not one you hear failing very often.

I seriously doubt it will be as compliant as a regular GT. The GT is by most accounts too softly sprung for real track duty. The 350 will almost certainly have a pretty firm ride and the R model has already been stated as being harder still.

There was oil consumption issues with the "rev up" versions.

It was rated good from general public driving normal. But that engine has never been a top performer, like WRX STi or Evo or M3 or Supra and etc.

I have the same concern and I was thinking strongly about getting the magnaride so it will be possible to adjust the suspension. It sucks because a car like this you probably will not get a chance to drive before you buy. So you just have to make some assumptions and hope. I wonder whether there will be a lot of slightly used GT350s out there in 2016/2017 because people decide the ride is too firm.

I remember reading about the original GT350s in 1965 - many people complained about the harsh ride, noise, etc. Some of the things that make a car great also might make it hard to live with, especially for those of us who plan to drive it a lot.

What I've heard from someone who's driven it:
In soft mode it's similar to a GT PP - firm, but not harsh
In hard/race mode, it's full on

I do know that the GT350 springs are a bit firmer than a GT PP, but many forum members have replaced their GT PP springs for firmer (Pro Kit, Steeda Sport, etc) and weren't unhappy with the comfort.

Thanks Magnaride.

The FPC style of engine building is always a hard motor to balance and Ford has been working very hard to give the customer a balanced motor that will last the life of the vehicle. Remember the car does have a warranty just like every other new Ford so you have that piece of mind if you actually plan to drive the car beyond the factory warranty I would suggest an Extended service plan if you want that piece of mind. Otherwise I have heard that most of the vibration issues were fixed early on in the design process.

They have flogged the GT350 at almost every major private and commercial track in the US. They have also tested at Nurburgring. They are also running shadow in CTSC and are about to begin their developement season.

They even drag race them in Florida in shitty conditions...

Who knows what else... Didn't sound like much simulating or computer work when into the engineering.

(Sorry about some of the typing today)

Well, you are comparing a relatively low strung normally aspirated engine to a few turbo engines and a high strung N/A six or V8. The nice thing about the original VQ35DE was its reliability. I'm approaching 190,000 miles on my Z and it has been very reliable.

The nice thing about the Voodoo is that it seems like it was made specifically with track performance in mind. Hopefully that will lead to good long term reliability.

I have no Date of Information regarding this so take it for what it's worth. However a work acquaintance friend works for Rousch, so two degrees of separation; and stated they where still having some issues with the vibration.

Again I don't know at what point this guy was involved with validation of the GT350 that Rousch is doing for Ford.

However I would venture to guess if the issue was serious enough they would have canned it some time ago.

This is like the guy at Burger King telling a friend about the fryers at Mc Donald's....it would be one sided for sure...just saying

If it is anything like the Magnetic Ride suspension in the ZL1 that I have the difference between the various modes is very noticeable. In the softest setting it feels similar to that of a Mustang GT or Camaro SS with OEM suspension -- in that it feels very smooth (for a sports car) however when you firm the suspension in the sport or track settings you can instantly feel it tightening up. However IMO it still isn't as harsh of a ride as the 2010 Camaro I had with drop springs, yet the ZL1 handles significantly better. It really is the best of both worlds.

Well one reason I ask is the GT350 with the Track pack has heavy-er springs and this would have nothing to do with the magn-ride...am I right or wrong?
