Im mostly falling over the faux stitching on the dash and side panels of the center console. I personally do not see a reason to have faux stitching I rather have a plain piece. What makes me go !?!?!?!? even more is the fact that with Premium trim you only upgrade 50% of the faux stitching into real stitching... doesn't make much sense to me. Its like they overlooked it or ran out of time.

I like the interior but that faux stitching just never made any sense. In any car for that matter. And looking at the new Camaro it seem it can be done.. almost more contrast stitching then you see in a fully loaded Porsche.

IMHO if those changes add $1 to the cost of the car they aren't worth it.

Agreed. The premium models especially, need to feel more premium!

This is not a luxury car with a high price tag. It's an american muscle car that starts in the 20s. Even if you pay the top price for a premium GT, you are getting a whole lot of car for the price. The engine alone is worth the extra bucks. The interior on the S550 is a lot better than the previous models and in my opinion more than I could ask for at its price point. If you buy an F-type or an M4 and spend 65-100k, you can be upset if there is any hard plastic parts but when you buy a reasonably priced American muscle car, you have to expect plastic and other money saving parts to get the engine and performance we all have in our new mustangs. I love this car in general and for the money!

Well that's true of course but just looking at the faux stitching. There are two pieces that have faux stitching, the dash and the sides of the center stack... isn't it odd that with the premium trim upgrade only one of those items gets its faux stitching upgraded ? Looks messed up and makes no sense to have only one piece be upgraded... Its those things that I do not understand, and really set it back.

Seen the new Camaro interior even though its not really my taste it does looks complete and all makes sense. In terms of material choices I dunno if its good or bad but it all fits together and nothing looks out of place. The faux stitching in the Mustang looks really out of place, especially after the Premium trim upgrade. So does the driver screen in a 2015 car.

Don't sit in a previous gen mustang :D

Honestly at first glance the interior looks amazing but there are still some really cheap pieces, though at this price point it is expected.

The Camaro interior looks really nice but I am assuming there will also be some cheap pieces as well unless they plan on losing money on every car sold.

I have driven a last gen Mustang and honestly it wasn't too bad. I expected a lot worse. Although back then the Dollar vs the Euro was different so I was comparing it to a whole different class of car, could buy like two for the cost of a single now.

Next time there is an auto show in your area, sit in some "luxury cars" and feel every piece in the interior. I think you'll be surprised at how many still have hard center consoles and lower door panels--it's not at all uncommon.

Personally, for the $400 or so it adds to the price, I feel like the premier trim probably should've just been standard. Is $400 really going to put the car out of reach for anyone? That would eliminate a lot of huge more common interior complaints I see about this car.

With that said, I personally love the interior of the car, and find it extremely competitive for the price.

I had a base 14 for a while, it was okay but the interior was pretty much 10 years old already and there was a lot of hard plastic everywhere, something the new gen fixes. It wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be but when you sit in say a 11-14 and then a 15 he changes aware pretty huge. The center console really shows the difference in quality, the last gen was a big hard plastic piece that had a cheap door, I had the auto and the shifter felt cheap, but on the 15 the plastic is softer, the armrest/door is nice and padded, the shifter feels really good. Once you sit inside the 15 and touch around it really shines.

The mustang is an economy sports car imho. They offer a lot of performance for cheap. In order to meet that low cost, Ford has to make some sacrifices. I personally think the interior materials are perfectly fine. However, I do think they need to rethink some areas. My main qualms are the gauges. They just seem terribly outdated, poorly placed and cheap looking. The plastic bezel is too deep for the tach and speedo. I think the biggest disappointment is just the lack of a digital speedometer. I don't even care about a HUD they should have just made a digital speedo for that center display between the gauges. You spend most of the time in the driver's seat so why wouldn't they make the gauges a little more aesthetically pleasing? The chrome plastic around the interior needs to go too imo. Overall this is a very trivial complaint and didn't stop me from buy one.

there are a few. But with the performance this car has. Nope. Mini cooper actually has a decent interior imo, some of the basic BMW's can be had for under $40k, quite a few Acura's, a few Lexus' as well just to name a few. Again, not the same performance. It's a trade off for the Mustang and I think Ford nailed it. Just needs a few minor adjustments.

Right, in the US its cheap. A top spec one here in Spain is $56000, and luckily we are one of the cheaper countries! So at that price point i don't want to see fake anything. If it's meant to be plastic then fine, but if it's meant to look like leather, then i expect it to be leather.

A big +1 on that. Ford still did a commendable job on this cars interior. The gauges are one design element that do make me scratch my head a little.
