I already have a tune, from my understanding as long as the tune doest cause the problem , your warranty will fix whats wrong. is that correct? tune wouldn't have an effect on a manual transmission right? I want LT's and full exhaust on the car but If i have a problem with the tranny, i don't want them to say we can't fix your tranny because you have exhaust and a tune. I can't take the LT off every time i have a issue. thanks

you will definitely want to remove the tune if ever taking the car in for warranty work.

What about to LT's? I guess I'm going to have to hold off on the LT. I can pull the tune out and but the old air box in myself. Headers is another story lol

I dont think anything with the exhaust will give you any warranty issues.

Long tubes without cats I doubt will run correctly without a tune. Be careful if u remove the tune without cats

Anything you do to increase the power of the engine potentially can create problems with warranty coverage for anything in the powertrain including the transmission.

Long tubes require a tune to run and a dealer/Ford can easily point to this for transmission problems. Don't run these mods unless you can afford to replace the drivetrain on your own $$. Otherwise you're taking a gamble.

How many $ are we talking about?

Like the cost of a new compact car, a crappy compact car but still you get the idea.

How did you conclude that ? Does your tune increase power / torque (which happens to be transmitted through your transmission) ? Then of course it does have an effect on it...

When I get a tune for mine, I will make damn sure it's a quality tune that's rather conservative and not pushing the limits of the car. I have no interest in risking that kinda money.

Lol wow do we really already have another one of these threads.

Again, nobody in here is giving any real information. I have yet to hear one single firsthand case of someone being denied a warranty claim because they had a tune at some point.

Nor does anyone in here actually know how the ford tech would be able to see that it was tuned. That's what I want to know. I've heard all the theories. Unless it is something catastrophic I doubt you will have a problem getting things fixed under warranty because of a tune. Idk about the LTs though

Wow, was no one around when the 5.0 first came out in 2011?

Ford designed a feature into the cars PCM that permanent records the number of times the vehicle has been flashed (tuned) and if that number doesn't match the service records for the vehicle, they will go sniffing around even further and will deny your claims. Many people had this happen during the 2011-14 MYs. I'm sure that Ford didn't remove that feature on the 2015...
