Musing about Eco and V8 based on my test drive.

I love my ecoboost and everything about it. Especially the fact that I paid under 26k and have lighter more agile car that gets better mileage.

Regardless, the 2015 mustang is an incredible car in both forms.

The Eco with a tune is just not the same. 320/360+ at the wheels tune only and average 25mpg in combined driving on top of the engine weight savings.

I personally have no regrets. The only time I notice rev hanging is in sport/sport+ btw

tuned...vs stock. tune a v8 and it will be a monster. tune a eco and it will be on level with a stock v8. if you're lucky.
however, both great cars. I almost went with the ecoboost. until I called my dad and told him what I was gonna buy and he reached through the phone and slapped me. haha.
like I said, both great cars. I am biased towards V8.

I've accepted the fact that the GT is more powerful. And that's okay because this car is pretty damn quick too!

There's no question that if both cars were equal (same mods or no mods) the GT is superior but i think the video was just trying to illustrate that you can get close to the same power with this car.

im just curious...how many thousands in mods do you have to spend in order to get up to the HP of a GT. (probably Cat back, down pipe, Tune, CAI, (headers?))
if you buy an eco boost for 28k, and put 4k mods in it, you've exceeded the cost of a base GT.

Technically speaking I'm not sure but I doubt anyone bought this car hellbent on matching the GT's HP. At least I didn't.

I'm not sure but it's probably worth pointing out that the GT costs about 7k more than the Eco, not 4k.

Yep. Clearly if raw HP is your main interest, the GT is the better choice.

GT's are 7K feature for feature more than an EB. So, if it's a 28K Eco, then it's a 35K GT. If you're going to compare base to base, then be fair about it. ;)

4.5k. MAPerformance just released their turbo kit. Turbo, downpipe, intake, tuning device, intercooler, and all associated piping. 390/390 wheel on stock block and everything. 420/420+ if you use race gas.

Also, the EB doesnt have headers. Integrated exhaust manifold. That's one of the reasons it sounds bleh.
