I'm also thinking about these same two upgrades. I asked my Ford dealer about the installation cost of the lowering springs. I was told that the job would take 8 hours to complete and at a cost of $965 in labor!!! :eyebulge:

Does that seem excessive? A labor rate of $120.63/hr certainly seems excessive!!! What have people been paying to install a lowering spring set?

That is ridiculous, I just had my steeda springs installed by Gearhead Performance in Arlington TX. Travis put two guys on the job and it took 1.5 hours to install them for $250.00. From the time I arrived until the time I drove away was under 2 hours. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

Has anyone installed a Ford Racing short shifter yet? If you have, just wondering what your experience is with it, or how it compares to MGW and Barton.

Bump for more info. I'm considering this as my next mod. I have no issues with my trans and I don't drag race so this would be perfect, especially at the price.

Well, I had a late Saturday night impulse buy after a few adult beverages and ordered one up from CJ's. It just shipped today so I don't expect to have it installed for a couple of weeks. It's a bit beyond my mechanical prowess so as soon as my local shop can get me in I'll have it installed and will let you guys know what I think. Not sure if it'll compare up to the Barton, but at just about half the price I figured I'd give it a shot.....

does this shifter work with the reverse lock out and back up camera?
I haven't had mine installed yet (just got it) but the specs show it's compatible with both:

Features and Benefits:
- Quiet with NO Increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness)
- Maintains Factory Pull-up Style Reverse Lockout
- Approximately 19% Reduction In Throw
- Retains Back-up Camera Functionality
- Increased Driver Feel and Feedback
- Compatible with Factory Shift Knob
- Requires Some Assembly
- Includes All Necessary Hardware and Installation Instructions

$300 and your getting pieces to retrofit a OEM shift mechanism?

seems like that maybe it should cost around $100.

can you please take some pictures of the parts and the process please?

I'll take some shots of the parts, but I won't be the one installing so I won't be able to capture that.
