What are the chances here you got someone not in the know at Bama. I have this exact setup, car runs great in all modes. The modes wouldn't "upload" or "flash" a new tune setting. I'd hit up Alex here from Bama or on Facebook.

Hopefully, Alex will weigh in on this. I'm gonna be disappointed if putting the car in Sport mode switches from the Bama tune to the stock tune that the car came with.

I go back and forth b/w Normal and Sport mode, and I don't think the switch happens. Car feels stronger in both modes after installing the Bama tune.

I don't think you understood.

Try re-reading the copy/pasted email I received. ;)

I should be getting the revised tune tomorrow (which was recommended to me, and is exactly the same as what I previous ordered, by the way lol). Tomorrow marks the 5th business day since I received confirmation of mail-order-tune.

Hopefully that fixes atleast the sluggish, squishy, slow feeling under 3k rpm (more sluggish than when car was bone stock)

I don't buy it. Literally just went and drove from normal to sport mode, and it feels stronger in both, but also feels better in sport than normal.

If it really was overriding in sport and going to a ford tune, it wouldn't be calibrated for the JLT intake and the things you have happen with a JLT and no tune would happen. It would be super jumpy, Idle would bounce and it would feel weak as shit.

Thanks Jewishthunder for your experience and take on the tune.

I agree with everything you're saying in your second paragraph.

Regarding the sluggishness, my guess is that in the initial "what mods do you have" form (prerequisite to receiving the complete tune) the Bama team overlooked my 3inch exhaust mod and tuned the device to accommodate a vehicle with smaller exhaust tubing.

Regarding the Ford tune overriding the Bama tune, well...I don't know :\

I am guessing someone at Bama does not know what they are talking about. Even ford does not have different tunes for the different drive modes, no other tuners have done this, so how did Bama manage to do this? I bet the short answer is: They didn't.

As mentioned, this could potentially be very bad for your car is this is the case.

I chatted with a Bama support guy on their website asking if the tune applies to all the drive modes and if the modes still work (snow wet will still have less throttle response with the tune installed, etc...) and he said yes to both.

Dabears 2322, that's mind-boggling!

I receieved an email from Andrew saying otherwise (view 1st page of thread).* I also contacted Bama via phone and Justin (I THINK that was his name) also said otherwise. Also, via phone, the rep said SCT is working on it - not Bama. Wtheck?

I hope you're right.

That's really weird and makes no sense given that every other tune from Bama and other tuners is not having this problem with switching drive modes. I love Bama but they may be giving lip service to buy some time because they are so busy right now. I'm sure alex will chime in tomorrow and help out. Their customer service is the best. I'm guessing something small got screwed up in the tune that will be a quick fix. The problem of driving modes not working with the tune would have been discovered months ago and addressed by now.

Charles,

When you have your car in Sport mode, and you toggle back to normal mode it will revert back to our Bama Performance tune in normal mode. You do not have to reload the tune in anyway. I hope this helps. Thanks, and have a nice day!

Regarding the sluggish, slow acceleration on my car, post-mods, I called Bama directly and spoke with Justin. He advised me that the difference in tune should be night/day and that he'll work on the tune the moment we ended the conversation. Should be ready before end of day.

Really awesome guy.

I wouldn't let bama tune my car in the first place, but if I did there's no way I'd let anyone but Paul tune it.

I just PMed Alex at AM about this. Hoping he can give us a definitive answer. I thought the Bama tune replaced the stock tune in all modes.
