My one daughter's boy friend came over and my daughter wanted me to let him drive my Mustang (just around the block). I have let my own children, all 4, drive (also only around the block)
My daughter said that if I did not let him drive their relationship may suffer. I can appreciate that as I do like the guy. The trouble was he had not driven a manual in TEN YEARS (since his father had a WRX)
Anyway I let him drive, me in the passenger seat. Till he got the hang of it there were about 5 stalls and shudders
I must give him credit, he did not touch the curb
I hope my clutch is OK

I wouldn't have let him, then again this clutch made me feel like I never had driven a standard when I first started driving mine. And I was driving a MT-82 car before. I told my salesman don't say a word.

Next time tell her if he is that shallow I hope he starts walking.

Sounds like you are a big softy. Luckily your car isn't; tranny will be fine... just don't make a habit of it!

Let him drive it....but for one factor.
Side story- when I was 16 a distant older cousin came to visit..had a classic aka early model Porsche which he let me take out solo..his attitude "I can always get it fixed". 40 yrs later I remember that thrill and kindness.

What bothers me is YOUR daughter's attitude...of thinking your saying no would harm the relationship--sorry but something way wrong there. Either your daughter is very insecure or this guy is manipulating her. That is the issue you need to get ahold of. NOT was your clutch harmed (it wasn't)

I agree with this second paragraph, that would not be the reason that I would let him drive the car. If he were responsible and I trusted him the answer is yes. If her relationship were to suffer because of that, it is not much of a relationship to start with. If he were not the type of person to realize that your property is not his to make decisions with then he does not respect you or her and deserves neither. Not saying that is what was happening, but you alluded to it and where there is smoke there is often fire.

And if the transmission were to be harmed by a couple of stalls then it is not designed properly! :)
