I think if the v6 came in a premium I would have gone with that for many reasons you mentioned. In reality, the v6 doesn't give you much for a mid 20s price point and the car is just hard to justify for over 40k even with the 5.0. The premium eb @30k gives the best bang for buck imo. No regrets for going premium!
Agree with this, I certainly would've considered it but I wanted a premium package and other options to choose from but there was basically nothing.

Getting my V6 today! No justifying or excuses. It's what I wanted and it's right for me. That's how it should be as these cars are all Mustangs :) enjoy your rides!!

... And it does so .25 / gallon cheaper.

...

I was wrong when I said this. I just went for gas. Regular 87 was $2.759. Premium 93 was $3.209!!!

Midgrade is 89 octane which isn't good for anything.

That's $0.45 /gallon extra for premium gas! That's a ton. That is not insignificant and it is not paid for by the mileage increase of the eB, even assuming you drive the eB like a ***** cat, which no one does.

Using your gas prices (2.759/3.209). A v6 costs $.162/mile to drive using the city EPA rating and $.098/mile with the highway EPA rating. The EB is $.145 city and $.103 highway.

This makes the EB a couple cents per mile cheaper in the city and 1/2 a cent more on the highway.

With all the variables that impact mileage and the variability in gas prices around the country it's not worth even talking about whether it's cheaper to run a v6 on regular or an EB on premium.

Yeah the mpg between the two is not much different. Mpg was not a deciding factor when I made my decision because I was going to run premium gas in either one anyway.

Well, it's about .45 x 15 gallons = $6.75/tank. The mileage ratings you're using assume you aren't using a lot of turbo boost. They vary a lot and don't tell much of a story because global warming. If you make power you use gas.

Why are you arguing in a v6 thread? Lol
Come on nightmare, if you're gonna have the 5.0 have the maturity of it as well.

I think the v6 is a better option than the Eco just due to being NA...
You know those 2.3 are going to start having problems running all this boost down the road.

Confused on whether that was sarcasm or not...

It's just kind of sad that all the coyote guys are here arguing in a...wait for it.... V6 THREAD... It's not like he posted it in the v8 or general forum section. The OP feels the v6 is the best choice... And good for him.

The v6 is a great car, and for the guy saying "you want to go slow" please note not even our 5.0 is some gt500 zipping through the speedo... He's actuslly only about a second slower than us...
So win for the guys paying 10-15k less and only being behind by a second.:headbonk:

It's all good.
Obviously everyone is going to be proud of their car, and with good reason; it's a hell of a nice car. So when someone's in their home stadium, there's no reason not to cheer away! And just a sad case when a visitor tries to pick a fight.

See, that's what I mean. I appreciate Fox's understanding, but there's a perception based upon statistics and tests that the GT is faster. Right, it has a higher top speed and can traverse the 1/4 quicker, but in the real world I don't think it matters. You have to slow down when you get close to the car in front of you. You have to watch it or you'll get a ticket. Unless you are on strip, people don't race. It's about how they drive and use what they have. You can't use a 5.0 o the street to it's potential.

But they do zip. It's quicker, not faster. And 200 lbs off the front end of a GT PP is a zippy package. If you want to go faster, either push your foot down farther or get Red.

So long as it's quick in a relative sense, 1/4 mile numbers don't enter in. It's more the driver and how aggressively he drives. A lot of times you see these people with 911s that seem to want to wait around at stop lights and won't go 8 mph over the limit.

I now own a GT but still believe the V6 is a fantastic engine/package. As many of you were aware, I had ordered a V6 not too long ago. I cancelled it. My fiance is pretty great and she actually encouraged me to get the GT, knowing that while I would be plenty happy with the V6, I'd absolutely love the GT. This is a long-term purchase, so having that is important. Plus, current incentives on 2015's are pretty darn good, and I ended up only paying ~$6k more than what my V6 would've been.

I don't regret my decision, but I'll still be checking out what you all do with the 3.7L!

I too chose a V6. My reasons were for mpg's and (hopefully) less prone to get pulled back 40+ years to my high school mentality (tickets! :paddle:). ;)

IMHO, you are a bit overboard in generalizing why your choice is a universal best choice. If I had better self control and was not as frugal with gas $'s, I'd have gotten the GT! :D
This is just my opinion (as yours is just yours ;))... There is NO sweeter sound than the V8. In fact, I'm pretty sure that IS carved on a stone tablet some place.

Jamo, whereas I appreciate your enthusiasm for your choice, and I love my choice, declaring that the V6 is 'THE BEST' choice (for everyone in their right mind ) is simply, well silly.
That's just my 2¢ (back to banter now...)

It's just forum talk. It really doesn't mean anything. If I could afford a GT, I would.
