Have you occasionally heard clicking just before top is down all the way? THe first two times I dropped the top during my inspection at the dealer today at pickup, the passenger side hinge assembly seems to catch on the inner plastic(I'm guessing). It did not do it again after many retrys. Then when I was home tonight, i heard much lighter clicking (catching??) when top was about 90% down. Has anyone heard similar sounds and discovered the cause(s). Not a big concern, just curious on day ONE!

Dave - your top isn't catching on the tonneau caps is it??? :lol: I haven't noticed that on mine. It probably is just a trim piece or something, like you said. I am very impressed at how robust the mechanism itself is, so I would be surprised if it was a mechanical issue.

I have noticed the radio will cut out when I first un-latch the roof latch, but that may be normal, I'm not sure. Just an observation

That is normal. The manual mentions the sound cutting out so the volume can be adjusted (or something like that).

Latching the top down. Last night after a long day and top down ride home When I closed roof, it did not want to seem to latch. Like it was a bit too far from the windshield. I applied some pulling forward pressure and it latched. I had not noticed this before. I may not be doing something just right, it needs to break in a bit, or maybe there is an adjustment to make. Normal. The longer you have the top down, the harder it will be to latch, as you need to stretch the fabric tight. Thankfully they provided a beefy handle for that very reason!

My last Miata had a removable hardtop that I kept on for 4 months during the winter. The first time I put the convertible top up every Spring, it took two people to get it latched!

It was good to see a few GT's choose the 18" Foundry wheel option. At first I was not sure how I'd like them. But now having it in person I love them. A huge bonus was they are so easy to wash AND I can reach in to wash the inside surface of the rims!!! On my 2000 Sebring convertible, washing there depended on if I was in the mood to pressure was them when they were off for tire rotation. ;)

I'll post more pics after the clay bar, seal, wax process. So have a pair of sunglasses handy to temper her radiance! ;)

Great to hear! That's another reason I chose the 18" Foundry wheels; I thought they would be much easier to clean. Thanks for confirming.

I'm also going to have the calipers painted red to match my red interior, so I figured the Foundrys would allow a better view of them.

Another thing I just learned which makes a lot of sense is to blot the top dry instead of wiping it. Apparently, repeated wiping will wear the fibers and give the top a fuzzy appearance. I don't know if that's true, but better safe than sorry!

I used the Raggtop fabric top cleaner on my 2011 exclusively. I worked great keeping my top black and making it waterproof. I recommend it to everyone with a convert.
