Found this warning on my door jamb about the summer tires. Have y'all seen this?

Old news from 2010 when 2011 Mustangs with the Brembo Package (and summer only Pirelli P-Zero's) debuted. Probably found on earlier GT500's, as well.

that's basically every summer tire. The P zero's from the PP felt rock hard in freezing temps and were a bit skiddish.

All seasons or Winter tires (I prefer the latter) in cold weather, makes a big difference.

The OP is not suggesting this is new news just simply stating the car clearly sas do not use in cold weather (a fact several threads seem to not understand). The fact it's "old news" makes all the complaining on the forums that much worse

Thank you. I was posting to say that there is an actual warning in the car to not use summer tires in cold weather.

This should be a sticky in the wheels & tires section...

Nice. You should have posted this about 2 months ago! :D

May have prevented some of those PP crashes.

Also on page 256 in owners manual.

Summer tires provide superior
performance on wet and dry roads.
Summer tires do not have the Mud and
Snow (M+S or M/S) tire traction rating on
the tire side wall. Since summer tires do
not have the same traction performance
as All-season or Snow tires, we do not
recommend using summer tires when
temperatures drop to about 40ÂşF (5ÂşC)
or below (depending on tire wear and
environmental conditions) or in snow and
ice conditions. Like any tire, summer tire
performance is affected by tire wear and
environmental conditions. If you must drive
in those conditions, we recommend using
Mud and Snow (M+S, M/S), All-season or
Snow tires.

Honestly if someone doesn't know this info already they shouldn't be driving in winter-like conditions to begin with lol

But a lot of other people think it's fine to drive with summer tires in freezing weather.

They will think it's fine until a bad accident occurs and they are being grilled at trial by a merciless plaintiff's attorney regarding their reckless disregard of the warnings about summer tires.
