Strong burning smell underneath - Clutch?

I've got 1300 miles in on my 5.0 GT, 'break in' smell is gone but when I put it in track mode and play around a bit (slide the back end around a corner, do a donut etc.) I get a strong burning smell from underneath the mid of the car (not the tires, it's a different burning smell than tire smoke). Should I be worried? Check transmission fluid? (tech at Ford dealer said they checked at my 1000 mile service)

I've got +/- 600 miles on my car, and really 'got on it' for the first time this past Sunday. After several high-RPM/high-torque shifts, mine was smelling pretty bad, too. After adding another few (15-20) miles of 'normal' driving, it seemed to go away. I'm assuming (and hoping, at least in my case), it was just a case of the clutch/trans not having been up to that temperature yet (I've admittedly been babying it for the first 500 miles).

Please let me know if you find anything out.

I had the break in smell all the way up to about 2200 miles. And I'm not easy on the gas pedal. Ever.....

On a side note, I pulled my stock airbox off yesterday and the car was completely cold. If you stick your head around the engine bay you can kinda smell some stuff too. Itll probably eventually all burn off in the hot summer heat coming up, but yeah smells weird. Im sure thats a bit what we're getting whifs of too.

I get this smell sometimes still at 5000 miles. Not as often or strong as it used to be. I'm pretty sure its the cats breaking in.

This thread makes me feel less neurotic. Lol. I'm glad to see experienced manual drivers having the same worrisome tendency as myself, a person who bought my 5.0 in a stick, only having driven a standard once before.

Speaking of which anyone know where the fuck the clutch engagement point is. Had the car for two days now and I cant for the life of me do consistent starts back to back. I am not liking this clutch.

FYI came from a 2011 VW GTI manual and that car was simply amazingly interms of clutch feel.

The change wasn't as much as I expected but still a lot better. There are a few videos of it. I just looked at it and used my hands, no tools. l did snap a a piece of plastic though.

I see the video which is with the pedals out of the car. does it work the same as with the pedals in the car?

Dont really need much of a DIY in detail, get some clamps in there, compress the spring and pull that bitch out lol

To me it made a big difference over stock. Linear all the way through.
