I just noticed the the eB PP does not include Strut Tower Braces like the GT PP does. Bad eB PP!

I order all the V6 for my dealership with the 3.55 gears Most of my customers appreciate the extra acceleration.

Believe it or not, I was on my way to my MD apt. this morning and I thought I'd check out the local Ford Dealer. There in all its glory was a 3.55 axled V6, just like I wanted. Must be the only one for a thousand mies. I came back later and test drived it and everything. Great car. It pulls great and right from the start. Feels great. Not as much power as a 5.0, but that's it.

Now what am I going to do?

Like I say, I got to test drive it and everything. In fact, the salesgirl is kind of cute. A little petite for me, but we had a nice chat.
Get this, the car ran out of gas on the test drive. Ran to empty. Get this ... It ran out of gas exactly, directly, right on the railroad track. It lunged forward the last foot of gas and stopped directly on the track. It's a well traveled track. People got out of their cars and help us push it off the track and the dealer had to come and fill it up.

Me and the chick had a long talk while we waited for more gas.

Unfortunately, although the salesgirl is very nice, the dealership itself is A$$ Oles. I wouldn't normally buy from them. But they have the only car like this. Except I didn't want Orange. I wanted Ruby, Blue, Metallic or Silver.

Wow what a story!

Can you wait long enough to order, now that you know you love the configuration? I know the orange definitely grew on me when I had one as a rental for a few days, but I don't think I'd buy one.

I know, right! I should have taken her photo with the car. You'd have liked her.

But everyone keeps talking about the eBoost and the toon. I still don't know what to do.

Here's the EgoBoost one they had. I drove this one too. I like the wheels. I guess this dealership likes orange:

If you're comfortable getting a tune then the ecoboost is almost a no brainer. What did you think of both in stock form?

In stock form the V6 was better other than the wheels from the PP look twice as good. But the stock V6 w/3.55 is a pleasure to drive. It's no GT, but it takes regular and gets up and goes. The ride and handling of the V6 were very, very nice. The PP was stouter, which is nice but not necessarily more enjoyable.

Good luck making a decision then. Can't go wrong either way.

That is quite interesting but I'm sure crazier things have happened for some while test driving... maybe...? My local Ford dealer just gave me the keys and let me drive off for a couple of hours (v6/EB).

Unless you feel like you can really adapt, especially with bold colors such as CO, don't settle because you definitely don't want to give yourself a reason to feel buyers remorse

"EgoBoost", that's a pretty good one! The EB owners seem to spend more time in the V6 section instead of theirs lately. Until members actually post up some personally attained numbers I really don't care for their opinions being presented as facts. The EB tune sounds like a good deal honestly but that wouldn't have changed my mind after driving both to see which would be a better DD for me. I plan to eventually tune my V6, if tunes are ever made available, and although the EB might be a better performer in this category I'm happy with my decision.

Try this, make a simple table with two columns designated for the V6 and EB each. Write down as many "advantages" that matter to YOU personally in each. Highlight the most important ones and then make a judgment call. There is no wrong answer here just preferences.

No one can make the decision for you, so pick one already!

You're good. Can I quote you on that?

I really pissed 'em off over in the eB section. I'm not welcome there any more.

Sure, quote what?

I haven't looked at the EB section for a while... what did you do?

1. I quoted you above.

2. I referred to the I4 Engine as the "EgoBoost" and its electronic flash amplifying procedure as a "toon."

Oh, ok... I see that you commented in the Livernois tune thread. FYI, tunes are not EB specific as they can apply to most vehicles with a PCM. I want to tune my V6 for example (previously tuned my 2006 V6 with great results) but we are waiting for the main providers to give us some options. Also, I do agree with them that the EB should give better results when tuning as compared to the 3.7L due to the turbo.

3.15 vs 3.55

Once I put that shifting lever in sport mode it felt like my 3.15 was a 3.55.

but 3.55 is just a little too stiff for my mostly highway trips.
Why do you say that? I have the 3.55 gears and the car is barely over 2000 rpm at 70 mph.
