Pick up a taller tire.
Dont worry about your track app, take it out to the track for real world numbers. Very hard to get an accurate reading with tire spin.
+1

Also, many devices or applications use a high resolution GPS receiver instead of, or in addition to an accelerometer to measure speed, distance, and acceleration. Accelerometers are subject to issues when the car pitches and rolls. It's pretty well documented on here that trackapps is problematic.

an iPhone has an accelerometer, and a 1 Hz receiver (need something like dynolicious too)

a gtech pro uses a 10 Hz GPS receiver (and accelerometer)

a vbox sport uses a 20 Hz GPS receiver (and accelerometer)

Trap speeds on GPS-based systems are instantaneous, and thus higher than what you'll get at a strip, since the instruments at a strip average the last bit of strip up to the line.

I've also observed that my car goes faster than it thinks it is: I set the cruise to a speed, and my Garmin GPS consistently shows I'm 2-3 mph over whatever speed I'm set to... I'm not sure what to ascribe that to yet.

Only 4 possibilities:
1) you have a taller tire than stock
2) you have a taller final drive ratio than stock
3) you have an incorrectly programmed ratio/tire size
4) you have a broken speedometer

Everything is as it was off the line. I think maybe the factory tune is programmed a bit off. A GPS is usually very accurate.

They might have misprogrammed it at the factory for a taller final ratio (3.15 for example) Take it to the dealership to check it out, you have nothing to loose.

My 2015 mustang is a v6 with 3.55 gears but my car is auto.
Using 93octane fuel. In S mode my best time 0-60 is 5.6s. In drive 5.7s.
0-30 in S mode best is 2.3 and in drive 2.2.
I'm new to this and haven't put many attempts at 0-60,(maybe 12 trys, 6 per day), so I think I can get to 5.5s maybe even 5.4s. (my auto is bone stock except the 3.55 gears/factory upgrade and running 93octane gas.

you are missing 2 cylinders. Get those added and your 0-60 times will improve.

I have the 6M and been contemplating changing out the rear to 3.55 from day one. As it is so hard to hold 6th gear in hilly areas with the 3.15. My DD is 6M with gearing close to a mustang with 3.55s but it is a truck that carries a load with a VQ V6. I would like to hold 1st gear a little longer than the 3.55 would provide in the Mustang. Wondering if the 3.31 is where it’s at.

I've been contemplating a 3.55 too: I have been hitting fuel cutoff at 59.8 according to a free speedometer on my phone -- I'd like to be able to pull past 60 in 2nd. But then I'd need a tune -- I'm not yet sure if I'd be able to get that done at a dealership -- for a long time, it seems like Whipple have been the only ones who could adjust for everything properly -- that may not be entirely true though.

3.55 is perfect for the V6. Even with my Procharger I wish I had the 3.55.

Lmao really dude? Smh...
Just being snarky. It is Monday, and I have spent the entire weekend with my in-laws.

My apologies.
