Is there a Strut tower brace for the V6? I had one on my old LX 5.0 back in the day and it really did help with the old fox body flexing, but do you all think it will do the same on this new car? Is it worth getting if there is one out there?

I haven't seen any yet, but it is on my "must have" list. I put one on my '05 convertible, and it made a huge difference.

Not sure if it will fit given the low clearance. The engine cover fit but it almost seemed like a squeeze.

What the heck, give it a try. Sure it might buckle the hood but the new crease might look swell with the (pony) logo that appears depending on the moisture and temperature level.:p

Its obviously not the over the engine heavy duty tower brace on the GT, but the stock (051A) V6 convertible comes with a steel plate (maybe 3/16" thick?) that goes from the shock tower, back to the firewall and around to the other shock tower. I have not checked under the hood of a coupe. It may not have this.

That says in fine print, that it doesn't fit the V-6 model. I'm not sure why but that's what it says.
The point is "mute" depending if these modifications (might) void your new car warrantee, right?

In what conceivable way could a tower brace have any negative affect on a car, and hence be a warranty issue?

I have no idea, just speculation (but) before I would risk the potential of voiding my bumper to bumper 36 month 36K Warrantee, I myself would first double check. Seems reasonable to me.

Since I just got my convertible, I bumped your engine cover thread. (Love your cover!!!) Several guys said in January they would or would likely do the cover mod too. I want to hear if any actually did. :) Do you see any marring, material 'impression' in the foam cover or any other hints that would indicate the hood actually contacts your cover?

Back on topic...
Reaper, did (or can) you ever place materials* on top of your engine cover to try to estimate the clearance (if any) between the cover and the hood, especially where a brace would go?

It would look great AND be added body strength for us with convertibles, because the 'Verts already have the black steel brace that goes from the shock towers to the firewall.

* Other than placing solid pieces of wood on the cover, say and carefully watching for the slightest buckling, can anyone think of some material that would be soft enough to squish between the hood and foam cover and kind of retain it's compressed shape (at least long enough to measure)?
