first road trip

Just took my first road trip with the new mustang. Went from mobile AL to new Orleans la and back. had 2 charger srt8s and a corvette try to race me. I guess I should start getting use to this lol. Suprised on how good my mpg on the interstate was...Over 300 miles I averaged 23 mpg.

Went back and forth weaving through traffic with one of the srt8s on I10 but too much traffic and didn't want to get a ticket . I got up to about 95-100 then I slowed down

I had a Challenger pull up to me today and wanted to race. I just waved my hand at him to go on. My baby still needs to have her engine broken in, then we can whoop some tail afterwards.

You got your Mustang from Mullinax in Mobile? That's where mine came from. My dealer did a locate. According to Google Maps the distance from Mullinax to my dealer is 183 miles.....and the car had 183 miles on it when they got it here. Hmmm. The prep guy here didn't even take off the little sticker they put on the door jamb saying return to Mullinax for service! LOL I haven't been down to I-10 yet.

Yeah I bought it from there but they did a locate from apopke fl. Yeah theY left there ugly yellow and green dealer decal on the back of it which I immediatly took back to have removed

Sorry, I had to jump in here even though my '15 hasn't arrived...BUT, I do have a '14 GT Prem. No engine mods...K&N filter and Magnaflow axle backs, with lowered suspension and Koni struts and shocks.

I got behind an SRT8 on a merge lane to a 3 lane in the city. Speed limit is 55. We had a light change and thus cars coming up quickly so it was "go now quick" or wait forever. He had the same idea as me...go quick. He went hard....and so did I...and to my surprise I was right on his butt. He kept trying to pull away and couldn't.

That was fun and kinda shocked me. It was a Challenger...much heavier...more hp....but, was fun knowing he couldn't leave me behind. LOL.....!!

Yea I kept up with the srt8 pretty good...probly could have even passed it him I decided to floor it like he was.

Ha! Good one! The DAY I purchased the GT and drove it home from Central PA, I was stopped at a four way light on a slight upgrade when a rather LOUD sounding Dodge Pickup (it even said "Hemi" on the side) pulled aside and started revving the engine. The guy kept revving and revving until I shot him a glance...I looked up, engaged the "Sport" mode, and nodded. I felt my spouse nudge me in the side and I turned to her to see her give me a smile and a nod. I smiled back and we both braced for the light to change. The light went green and he rocketed ahead as I calmly waited just a tad and put the car in gear and eased forward all the while watching the State Trooper that she saw who was over by our right side almost out of view go "Code Three" after our latter day Don Garlits. Hilarious! :lol:

Guess when he looked over at me he couldn't see the State trooper even though he had to look down into my cockpit...and BTW, his plates and decals indicated he was from Maryland and a Ravens fan (we live in the heart of Steeler Country)

Haha! I have a friend with a 1970 challenger. Constantly mucking around with my mustang and his challenger, but I will always be with the mustang.
