Drove home today with the top down. Love this FL weather.
Congratulations, mpwillis; I'm glad you got to enjoy the first ride with the top down! That's a beautiful Mustang!

A number of weeks ago the convertible cover caps we're supposed to be available at dealers by February 15th to send out 2 convertible owners who had not got them. And convertibles after that date were supposed to be delivered with them (or dealers would add them at the time of delivery.)

has anyone gotten there side caps for the convertible yet either upon delivery from the factory or from dealers parts department?
I have yet to receive any caps
Let me know if you don't receive the caps over the weekend, davekro and MagneticMan. They should be mailed to you directly.

Nice ride!
Thanks Man - all I could have imagined.

BTW, no tonneau caps, no A/W mats, and for my EB, Premium PP, no arching tower strut, but does have the K-brace (strut to strut via the firewall). Am considering getting Ford Racing or GT tower brace to complete the triangle. Another thread indicated K-brace does the heavy lifting with arched tower brace secondary, but I like the looks and figure more is better.

I am awaiting the delivery of my convertible, so I haven't been able to double-check the wind flow over the windshield with the top down. I have software in my lab that allows me to simulate the airflow over a digital version of the 2015 soft-top. The animations showed that the flow was quite smooth over the front passengers' heads until speeds reached above 60 mph. Then, there began 'blow'back' from the rear seats to the front. So I am expecting that if there is no cross-wind, I should be able to wear a hat at normal road speeds.
The simulations showed that with the top up, the convertible had a quite smooth flow over and behind the soft-top, almost as smooth as the hardtop coupe.

Good to know on the 'top up' air flow. I tested the top down airflow. It was impressively calm. It was calmer than the 2014 I had driven a week or so prior. It is way calmer than my 2000 Sebring convertible, which is not too bad. On the Sebring I have a windscreen that is vertical behind the seat headrests and covers the rear seat area. I will look for one of these down the road for the Mustang, but not sure if it would even be needed that much.

Any of the convertibles here had any of the build quality issues discussed elsewhere?

I am very curious if any of convertibles have had any of the build quality issues discussed on the forum?
Passenger door hitting or too close to front fender.
Hood, trunk misalignment
Drive line vibration 50 -70 mph (V6 only?)
Interior dash vibrations
Any other issues or concerns?

Mine is now scheduled to build Friday 2/27 (was 2/23). EDD has not changed from 3/13 (yet).

Thanks,
Dave

I got a pinched weatherstrip on the driver's side door, the clip by the door latch was smushed and the weather strip wasn't secure. Having it replaced it next week.

The carpet inisde the trunk on the left side nearest the front of the car isn't all that secure, more cosmetic than anything.

The hood only shuts if I drop it from 1 foot high, not sure if that's normal or not.

Otherwise perfection.

Took delivery a week ago. No obvious build issues. Front edge of hood is not perfect, but you wouldn't notice casually. No pinching just very slight larger gap pax side. Interior is good, but headliner seam (for and aft pax side) split. Threads broke loose. Top guy also found cut edge of liner close to that spot. He recommends headliner replacement. Split can be fixed but not the cut. Mileage not up to speed. 23/24 for combined mileage. Not pounding or nursing. Hope it will improve with a little time.

I brought Maggie home today! It's rainy and unseasonably cold for coastal South Carolina, so the top is staying up -- for now. But she's beautiful top up or top down. I love this car!
