So I am back on the fence. This time I know for sure I'm getting a base GT.

For those who already have the base stereo and an iPhone: How well does Sync play with iPhone?

Can't tell you how well it works with an iPhone, but I can say that the Sync gave me a headache once or twice with syncing to my Galaxy properly. It would start playing my music and then randomly disconnect from my phone. No matter what I did, it wouldn't sync up to my phone anymore. The next day, however, it worked perfectly again. I think it just might be a problem with my car though.

Pairing is spotty as far as auto connecting and choosing devices if you have multiple stored. Just make sure your Bluetooth is turned on before you start the car. The music interface is bare bones; no library searching available.

It gets the job done and that's about it.

I think it's terrific coming from my base 2011 GT that didn't have Sync. I can make and receive calls hands free. That's what I really wanted/needed.

Sync also works great for driving directions because it automatically interrupts the stereo and tells you when to turn.

I haven't had any problems with my 4S iPhone

base gt here with an iphone 6. i use 2 apps during my daily commute, and they both work flawlessly over sync via bluetooth.

pandora for music and waze for navigation/traffic/police notification

i use a phone mount with the lightning cable attached to a cigarette lighter adapter, not the usb port. when i had it connected to the usb port i would have to hit play on pandora twice to get it to work. now it will just automatically play when i start the car.

facetime works flawlessly as well as voice calls.

Idk about iPhone but my both my Samsung phones just flat out don't work with sync anymore. Will connect but when I try to play music or do anything will automatically disconnect. Talk about frustrating

Passenger side fuse box behind the kick panel... Pull fuse 32. It will reset the module and it should work after for about a month or so. That or pull the battery negative terminal for a few min. I have mine going in for service Monday for this reoccurring issue. By any chance do you know when your car was built? It seems ford changed sync modules for cars built after 9/28.

Bluetooth is okay for making calls. Playing music can be buggy at times, but overall not bad.

Zack,

It seems as though ford actually made a revision to the module itself. (Part numbers are slightly different) So all cars built after 9/28 have this revised module while cars built before 9/28 have the older module. My car was build on 9/26... I'm curious to see if people that have this issue are all cars built before 9/28.

My iPhone 6 pairs sometimes, other times it doesn't. Sometimes I have to restart the car and my phone to get it to work. It'll work 70% of the time.
