A follow up.
So none of the SYNC MOBILE APP stuff has worked either for the Pandora app or SiriusXM app since I got my car. Something else that I didn't realize was not working was the 911 assist.
So today about 1-1/2 months after purchase of my GT I fire up the car and all the sudden out of the blue the console screen tells me 911 assist is off. This is a new message I have never seen.
So now my brain clicks and I think.....ok I bet the sync apps are working now. I go to sync apps and sure enough there is Pandora now. So I check and yes Pandora works now with special menus.
I tried Sirius but no go on that. I start Sirius, tell it to search apps and 'search for apps' actually tries to work now. (before it did nothing) But it still can't find Sirius. Not only that but whatever it tries to do the Sirius app does not like because it closes prematurely on my phone and asks to send an error report.
So now I go back in settings and I am able to turn on 911 assist. Also the 'request update' or whatever that section says now works also and something updated because it says 'update completed'. But this is not the same software update that may be available from Ford at some point where you use a USB drive to install. This update procedure actually uses your phone's data connection to do the update...so maybe it is something to do with SYNC only.
At any rate, it appears some of the sync stuff for some apps is starting to work now so I would imagine one of these days soon Sirius will start working too. I still don't think it's my phone that prevented this because I have not updated anything on my phone for over 2 months now.
