Your thread is what gave me the idea that this was possible! I purchased the GT500 core support so it already has the provisions/cutouts for the hood pins. Obviously don't have the locks yet but seems like it should work. I noticed the curvature was different but its not too far off.

One thing I did run into and I'm not sure if this is just because I'm fitting 350 fenders on a GT frame but the front top fender mount is WAY off from working. When I had the fenders bolted in, there was upwards of an inch gap at the tip of the fenders to hood on each side. Fenders were way to far out in the front. I have taken that bolt out and now the fenders fit pretty well. Going to end up making a custom bracket once I get some headlights to confirm everything fits well. Here is after I played around with the fenders all day yesterday. Got it about as close as I think I will get.

Nice work!!!!! The other tricky part is bumper cover dip between the new hood and nose was different had to match the hood to the front just cuz my ocd takes over when things are off🤣. I also had to add alot to sides of my hood to get the gap better but yours is looking sweet

This is awesome - is the engine from Ford Performance (I thought I saw them offering it as a crate) ? Where's the CAM from ? And what will you use for ECU for this ? Manual trans ?

(body parts are nice and all but the powertrain is so much more interesting).

So this is just a straight service engine long block from Ford. (Same as the crate engine). Plan to use the Callies 175-002 cam. ECU will be the stock GT ECU with my custom tune I developed with the 06 project. 10r80 trans. Everything should work, active exhaust, gauges, drive modes, etc…

Hey Zack, have you considered a holley front cover and oil pan setup? The holley front cover converts the oil pump to a crank snout driven oil pump like the coyote and their pan gives you a lot more clearance underneath for the crossmember. Also, check out https://www.youtube.com/@MattSoppa He make custom harness adapters to coyote swap into pre 2011 mustangs, F150's and expeditions of all years. He could probably make you a custom adapter harness so you could run a godzilla ECU, you just have to do a PATS delete on the new ECU

I installed the Holley setup on a guy's Ziller for him. It was really nice! He did the full FEAD with A/C. All the hardware was actually IN the kit, everything fit great. Made to install in a Fox, so should be plenty of room in an S550!

So funny thing, I actually have a 7.3L PCM and it’s identical to the coyote PCM. Plugged it right into the S550 and lets put it this way, it didn’t throw any additional codes than the S550 PCM. So have to do a bit more investigating but it might be plug and play.

Definitely have looked into the Holley setup! Two main concerns I had with it so far are the smaller oil pan capacity (6.5qt vs 8qt) and the fact that they swapped the coolant inlet to the wrong side for a Ford.

Don’t think the oil capacity is an issue and the water inlet being on the opposite side is an inconvenience but not a significant problem…

Noob question here, but how are you planning to link up the 10R80 to the 7.3? My understanding is the bolt pattern is completely different. Is there already an adaptor on the market for it?

The 7.3 godilla uses the same bellhousing pattern as the coyote and the modular engines also the small block Windsor since 1965 when ford switched to a 6 bolt pattern. prior to 65 they had a 5 bolt pattern. The ecoboosts have a smaller pattern than the V8's do so as long as he uses a V8 10R80, he's good.

I didn't realize it was the same as Windsor???
Godzilla, Modular, and Coyote for sure are the same. 8 bolt flywheel, clutches, etc..

No, the flywheel is not the same. Regular 4.6 had 6 bolt, forged 4.6 and 5.4, coyote and godzilla have 8 bolt and all use internal balance. The Windsor uses two different sizes, a 157 tooth and a 164 tooth and all use external balance with either a 28 Oz or 50 Oz imbalance.

Ok now that the beginning has been recorded! Time to move onto the plans for the vehicle. Since its missing a front bumper and both the passenger fender and hood have damage from a fender bender (not to mention the barely hanging on headlight), it will be getting a GT350 front end (OEM) along with a GT500 hood! The GT500 hood is needed to clear the power plant. As the title suggests, you knew I couldn't just put a regular 5.0 back in. 7.3 Godzilla is going in with a cam this time! 600hp 600tq NA is the plan.
