I have a 23 ess mustang and snapped my belt not to long ago but after inspection my crank pulley isn't flush anymore. Luckily it didn't come off but planning on doing opgs and a crank saver bolt. Should I use another stock crank pulley or upgrade to something like romac , ATI, or innovators west?

Try an FFRE stud kit. If you go with a different balancer, be aware that some need to be rebuilt periodically. I believe The two you mentioned have to be rebuilt. For that reason, I chose Fuidampr for my car. I haven’t even started the car since installing these, but I’m hopeful they will be trouble-free.

Just be aware ATI balancers usually require honing to make sure clearances are correct. They are not designed to be a plug and play solution.

I had dealer install ATI along with whipple kit when ordering my car. I had a crankshaft snout failure around 12,800 miles taking out entire motor. Learned at later date that the ATI was never honed prior to install.

I ended up replacing long block with gen 2 aluminator, using the balancer that came with aluminator, and adding a MFP crank support for good measure.

Just throw a crank stud on there, Kinetic or FFRE and call it a day.

ATI balancers usually do not require honing for a stock coyote crankshaft. Called ATI when I was installing mine to get info from them.

According to them Ford OEM crankshafts have very good tolerances and the ATI damper is built around a stock crank and should work on the oem crankshafts without honing. If you have a good set of measuring tools you can check clearances. I put my damper in some boiling water and it went on fine. Has been holding on so far.

I would try to see if you can tell why the balancer has moved. Did the bolt back out or stretch?

Either way I would do atleast the FFRE stud. I have not done tons of research into the cranksavers but I would do my research if I were you.

Hope you have better luck than me. Surprisingly that after market crank sprocket took the hit like a champ.

This balancer was not properly installed which led to the snout failure.

Going to see if I can as I already have a kinetic crank stud but I'm not sure ebcause something had to fail for it to start walking off.

What hardware was used when the balancer walked off?

Ess g4 on a 95mm pulley ( on this pulley the belt can snap every once and a while on a 6 rib setup )
