Awww man...now you guys are making me unhappy about the probability of rust on that seem in my car and it's at a shop so I can't check it.
Make a phone call to the shop and ask them to pull the weatherstripping and snap a few pics for you.

The more I think about it, the only way to prevent it might be to pull the weatherstripping after every rain or wash and dry that area.

I made another thread today titled: Check your trunks for rust. If yours has any, would you please post it there? If people are checking theirs, I imagine lots of people will be chiming in.

I might run by the shop tomorrow if I get a chance.

What you all been waiting for. Im still fighting issues on trying to get it to start.
Gentleman, start your engine! Way to go man! I know you’re excited to see all of your hard work finally pay off.

I‘m looking forward to the day when I‘m ready to press the start button on mine.

The struggles continue. I started installing my parachute mount and after I got the bumper reinstalled, I went to tighten the bolt that holds the upright portion of the mount to the receiver and noticed that the mount would rotate left and right. Upon further inspection, I also noticed that the mount wasn’t straight and is leaning slightly to the right.

Long story short, for those installing parachutes, carefully check everything before installation and don’t assume someone else did.

I spent all day modifying the mount and trying to correct the issues, to include enlarging the holes and installing a spacer to tighten the tolerances, but arrived at the conclusion that my efforts were a waste. I will add this to the list to have the holes Tig welded and re-drilled and all other issues fixed.

Update! I met up with my welder yesterday and had all of the welding work done. I test fitted everything this morning except the section of piping from the IC to the turbo compressor outlet, but I’m certain it will fit.

This was a huge step and everything turned out great! All of the meticulous mockup and measuring (over and over) has paid off, especially given that I only took the parts to the welder and not the car.
