BL Fabrications 88/96 turbo install on 2019 Bullitt

More progress.! I finished up all of the wiring for the eBoost2 (leaving provisions in the wiring to run a steering wheel passthrough, so I don’t have to run a coil cord if I decide to add a scramble button). I also have the Delta PAG fan and controller and Davies Craig EWP controller up and running, so all wiring is finally complete.

Still waiting for my welder to fit me into his schedule, so I can have everything welded. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.

I sourced all of my parts separately, except for the BL Fab hot snd cold side piping, coolant/catch tank, turbo and o2/MAF sensor extension harnesses.

I had heard that the B L Fab fan wasn’t very good, so I wanted something better and chose the Delta PAG 14” PWM fan and controller. It also has a lower profile. I no longer have a thermostat, so the Davies Craig EWP and fan will work together to keep the engine temperature safe.

I had been thinking for weeks of a way to mount the oil cooler and it finally came to me today.

Here’s what I came up with. I will need to source a piece of 3/16” thick aluminum 1 1/2” wide and 12” long, to attach the upper and lower left side of the heat exchanger to the aluminum angle bracket that’s slipped into the u-slot on the radiator (just like the right side) and make a shorter bracket (maybe 2 1/4”) for the lower right side.

I will install the rivnuts that you see in the pics into the holes on the front legs of the k-member to secure the bracket to. That should be a fairly clean look and it should hold very well.

Awesome. Sounds like a great plan....and I am so jealous how CLEEEEEAN your garage floor is. Mine has leaves and everything else the Oklahoma wind blew in for the past 6 months. :(

I’ve been keeping the doors closed unless there’s a good reason to open them and even then, the doors get shut ASAP. It’s not a clean room per se, but I’m trying my best to keep the dust, dirt, leaves and critters out of my way.

Small update for today. About 3 weeks ago, I came to the realization that my PCM mount wasn’t going to work, as the PCM harness simply wouldn’t reach.

Once I started sorting through how to mount the heat exchanger for the oil cooler, I figured I might as well use the slotted aluminum L-brackets and rivnuts to mount the PCM to the frame rail.

Pretty much all i have left is plugging some connectors back in, moving two grounds on the wiring and running the o2 sensor and put the exhaust back on. I will update when the car starts and if anyone wants more in-depth details on anything.

I’m excited for you! I can imagine it must feel like a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Almost to the finish line .

I will make sure I or someone records and when all the tuning is finalized i will definitely be putting it on the transbrake.

Worked on the back end of the car today (pulled the bumper and mocked up the chute release lever). Waiting on the parachute mount to arrive, so that I can get that installed next.

As you can see, I found rust underneath the weatherstripping and on the bumper support. I’ll have to spot check that area to slow things down. I’ll bet this is common amongst Mustang owners. Heck, I’m only sitting at 8800 miles and the rust monster has already gotten hold of me.

Update on the rust repair. Wire wheeled it, hit it witch a scotch brite pad and then cleaned it, after which I applied 3 light coats of Rustoleum 2X in satin black.

While I was at it, I drilled the rear pumper and trunk bulkhead for the chute cable passthrough. I used a cable strain relief fitting which I felt was a better option than just a rubber grommet in the bumper.

That puts me a little bit ahead of the game on this task. Once the mount itself arrives, I’ll drill the bumper for it and get it installed.

Awww man...now you guys are making me unhappy about the probability of rust on that seem in my car and it's at a shop so I can't check it.
