Dark Horse SC, who's adding one, who's replacing with one, what will it do to GT500 values?

How many people will just buy a used s550 then throw a whipple? ESS? Pro charger? Etc for 40k… that’s the exact reason I went this way.

Cheaper- yes. Better - no

Ask the people in here who have gone through the process of building a forced induction S550 that is capable of track duty how much it cost, and how painstaking it was.

No matter what though, you 'll never get the Tremec DCT to work in an S550. (not saying it isn't possible, but I've never seen it done)

People underestimate/undervalue what it takes to make an 800HP factory built car that passes emissions, meets warranty requirements, can be used for repetitive track days etc.

Is it proven to be a track car though? If it has been, I 100000% get the price. But… what are its competitors at around 200k? Is a GT3 in that ball park? Because even the GTD got dog walked by the GT3. This isn’t my world so I’m just spit balling.

I was more referring to 100k for the “base” than the “track car” price point.

Based on the GT500 it's in the middle of a bunch of Porsches

Yeah, I'd be very curious to see what this "special edition" includes that justifies 170k. And will likely still get smashed by a well optioned Z06 for the same price. (on a racetrack)

A GT3 costs nearly 300k these days. Really, the 150-200k price area is kind of a dead zone for track capable OEM cars. You don't need to spend that much. A BMW M4 CSL is around 150k brand new, and is way more car than most can handle. Used they pop up for like 115-120k with very low miles.

You'd need to at least buy the Track Package DHSC car, to justify the use on a track unmodified. Should have all the necessary cooling, brakes, aero etc. to handle it, just like the GT500 Track Package cars did. In todays overinflated world, 140k is "reasonable" - barf.

When comparing the base model DHSC to what is available (New for New) for around the same price, the DHSC seems like a bargain. Nearly 800 HP, DCT transmission, Beefy brakes, etc. No one else makes a car like this right now, and certainly not for this price.

even with all the improvements for track use, this car still shares the fuel tank with GT500 and GTD...

GT500 will win the endurance race as the GTD and SC will run out of gas first. The tortoise wins again!

well yea…but those are housewife blue 😂
Honestly, anything but Black, White or Silver these days gets my approval. The highways are an endless sea of vehicles in these three colors. Also, I enjoy housewives.
