No it means I never signed anything for this particular reason. If you honestly feel that way, I'd have to ask.

Would you rather
A) be a "person of their word" and be disappointed and out $35000 for the next 3-5 years or
B) not be a "person of their word" and be happy with their purchase for many years to come...

If you honestly say A over a car purchase then congrats. Not only are you a "person if their word", you're also a dumbass.

I think this speaks volumes about you and how you live your life. The older I get, the more I find this old saying is true: "If you don't have your word, you have nothing". Like the other guy said: you should have done your homework before you AGREED to BUY THE CAR if the dealer would be kind enough to order it on a promise. I'll bet you a milkshake that Ford dealer knows the Chrysler dealer on a first name basis. I know if I were him, I'ed be making a phone call.

People change their minds all the time.

I promise you the dealer isn't going to have a hard time moving a brand new GTPP.

In this case, where as near as matters $40,000 is on the line..I would say he made the right choice.

We are talking about car dealerships here, not family and friends. Most of the folks at stealerships have no true honor and only care about $$. Sales reps and even worse, the finance people at dealerships are some of the biggest crooks out there. They are like predators in the wild looking to prey on whatever comes in the door, with a smile on their face. Regardless, he is perfectly within his rights to cancel the order before taking delivery. As 1320 said, people change their mind all the time. You have to be sure on a huge purchase like this.

Really awesome points man. I like reading these responses and seeing how I "feel" as I read them.

Meaning:
If I read comments that steer me toward one car, like the mustang for example, and my gut feeling is disappointment as I read all these reasons to choose that car over the other, then I know what car or item I "really" want.

I'm still undecided though lol
How much was it? I'm showing the starting MSRP for a 2015 392 is $44,995!

That's a SRT 392. It has the same brakes as the Hellcat (6 piston Brembos) and adaptive suspension (Normal/Sport/Track) as well as a more upscale interior and a different hood as well as 20 X 9.5 wheels with 275's all around (I think)

The "Scat Pack" 392 R/T starts in the high 30's. You can get a 8 speed auto 392 R/T Challenger for 37,500 OOD before taxes by using the FCA Affiliate Pricing Codes by joining Tread Lightly.

Basically 37,500 for 485hp/475 TQ, 8 speed auto, touch screen infotainment system, SiriusXm radio and performance pages. You can easily option up the SP into the low 40's by adding in the optional 20" forged wheels ($1000 option) the leather group, Sound Group II, sunroof etc.

However, in terms of raw HP/dollar..the SP R/T Challenger is the best buy on the market, fast as hell too. So far the fastest time on stock tires is 12.14 @ 114 and the fastest on DR's is 11.85 @ 115.

You know, if someone just listed these specs off to me along with that price, I'd probably say sign me up. But just knowing how massive the Challenger is completely nulls any excitement I have for it. I so wish they made some kind of spin-off model with a good 1-2 feet lopped off its wheelbase and 400-500lbs lighter.

That being said, I'm glad you found a car that makes you happy OP. It's a killer deal any way you look at it.

I honestly enjoy the size, but obviously understand why many do not. I like that a car that large can haul ass, but its no where near as nimble as the mustang.

Congrats on the great car, man. It sounds like you got a killer deal, and at least you didn't buy a Camaro!

Different strokes and all, I get ya. As long as you love it, that's all that matters!

I just did a build on the R/T Scat Pack and when you add the $1000 forged wheels, it automatically makes you add the stripe package, making it a $1700 addition. Worst part is they still use pathetic 245 wide tires!...That's ridiculous for a car that big with that much power. There is ZERO options to add wider tires, lol. Also, I actually prefer the look of the standard 20x9 wheels. It's sad, with the forged wheels option they don't increase the width of the wheels and/or tires, but instead make you take a stripe package you might not want...seriously, WTF?

With that said, the exhaust note on this car sounds awesome! Better than any S550 I have heard yet, and I mean those with aftermarket exhaust. This car sounds better than those cars straight from the factory.

There is a lot of pro's and cons with this Challenger but overall it is a badass oldschool type muscle car, no doubt. Would live to drive one and see how it is.

No more wheels with the appearance group... the stripe kit is now $500, and the wheels a stand alone package of $1000

I traded in my 2013 Camaro for a 15 Mustang GT with PP and never looked back. The only thing I liked better on the Camaro compared to the Mustang was the GPS which comes stock in the 13 1SS other then that, the Mustang excelled in every aspect. Dodge makes nice cars but they only cater to the straight line guys. Where else Ford and even Chevy have taken a greater aspect to apply to both parties (autocross and drag), even at the same time.
